Because they've become almost a universal symbol for Evil. If you want bad guys who are really, awesomely bad/wrong/evil, Nazis come straight out of central casting--xenophobic, elitist, arrogant, ruthless, relentless, and, scariest of all, generally competent. Probably since the bad guys in nearly every action movie in my childhood were the Soviets. The Nazis were kind of that group "that used to be even more evil" but arent much of a threat now.
