ayinde
I had this idea pop in my head has anyone used the hero combat system to simulate a sport? I am thinking fast paced sports like soccer football even baseball. did you need to make changes to the system to make it work?
dmjalund
there would have to be maneuvers to hit a target while avoiding a blocker - this would apply to many sports
Grailknight
I've seen football done as a martial art. Sadly we cannot search yet but from what I recall it worked fairly well. Blocking would have been an opposed maneuver, tackling is one of the various throws, disarms for defending passes and causing fumbles and so on. IndianaJoe3
I've seen football done as a martial art. This was in the 4e version of Ninja Hero.
Asperion
The most common "sport" that people use is wrestling, but I cannot see any reason why other sports (esp those like soccer, rugby, polo, etc) cannot be used in some form. Soccer would teach the use of high speed maneuvers in the tight area of the field (and a soccer field is much smaller than a football field - esp in the minor leagues). Think of what would be taught though such sports as rugby/football, polo, or even look for various Arabic, Russian, Oriental etc games to use. ayinde
that is a good point. I thought having a session that featured sports over combat would be a fun change of pace
