Ken Winland
Howdy! Are there any differences in the mechanics of the Hero system between the Hero System "phone books" and Champions Complete? I know that lots of examples were (obviously) left out, but were any of the mechanics of the system changed (subtly or not)? Thanks! Grailknight
I believe Classes of Minds on Mental Powers was omitted from CC. Also the ability to increase the maximum of Absorbtion is not forbidden. The second may be an error caused by the reduced text in CC. Balabanto
Skills that have limited categories now take a power limitation if you can't do the whole skill. Some advantages and limitations can't be used with certain things at all. Review carefully.
psyber624
Increased Maximum Effect Advantage was added back in for Adjustment powers
JmOz
Anything else of note? I was just about to come post this very question

Ken I get the impression you're already conversant with Hero System in some form, but if you don't get the references to Classes of Mind or Skills with limited categories, please ask. We tend to assume everyone knows the system already, but we also love explaining it to new people. Lucius Alexander When it comes to Minds, the palindromedary is in a Class by itself
Tech
Increased Maximum Effect Advantage was added back in for Adjustment powers Haven't heard of that one. 'Course, not being able to buy any books for a long time hasn't helped. What's this advantage do?
Grailknight
Increased Maximum Effect Advantage was added back in for Adjustment powers Haven't heard of that one. 'Course, not being able to buy any books for a long time hasn't helped. What's this advantage do? It allows positive Adjusment Powers to go beyond the max of their purchased die of effect. A 2d6 Aid normally cannot add more than 12 pts to a power or Char. Each level of Increased Maximum doubles that max.

Grailknight
The Growth power text lacks the chart and the chart footnotes and refers directly to the Size Templates. The text for the Size templates does not mention the cumulative +2 OCV and +2 PER rolls that attackers gain per Growth stage. Taken literally this eliminates those penalties from Growth. While this may be an artifact of the reduced text, I see it as a needed improvement of the Growth Power. YMMV and its probably a topic worthy of it's own thread. The "Target Size" combat modifiers are still listed on page 147. They are not repeated in the size template page but repetition was one of the things that CC eliminated from 6e to help reduce book size. There is no text in that rules section that implies they would not apply to the size of a player character target.
