clsage
{As always, I am working with 5th Edition, so please frame any responses based on that....thanks} Some while back I built a teen hero named Ellis who had the beginnings of a cyberkentic power suite (eg: things like an ability to disrupt electronics, mind link with computers, etc). In the campaign he was a part of there were a couple of occasions where, for the sake of storytelling/adventure color, the GM had some disruption of electronics happen spontaneously in his vicinity, including people being shocked by their cell phones. This got me thinking of a new power to (eventually) add to his repertoire: an energy blast attack, with the limitation of having to have suitable source electronics (eg: cell phone, MP3 player, etc) near to the target. It really isn't that difficult a build. However... I am uncertain as to how much of a limitation to apply to the power. I am currently thinking that with the level of connectivity we see in modern society, the limitation would be no more than 1/4. Does that seem reasonable to those here assembled? Thanks. As always I look forward to any suggestions/input. EDIT: For reference, I've gone ahead and attached the Hero Designer character file for him that was used in the campaign. Please note that certain portions of it are lacking (eg: when I submitted it he didn't yet have a fully fleshed out backstory, no last name, etc). -Carl- Ellis AKA Wiki _last name not yet decided_ vrs 1 0225121_001.hdc
Hyper-Man
Seems reasonable.
Ninja-Bear
Yes with the prevailance of modern electronic devices, -1/4 would be the max. Btw I think that technically you should have indirect attached to the eb too. (P.s. I didnt get to open the link so if you did my apologies)

And just to clarify, the attached HD character file is the characters 'prototypical version' and is built on a 150pt base (being a 'teen hero' and all). As such it does not yet have the above mentioned EB attack added to his powers . -Carl-
Christopher
Indirect was pretty much my first idea too. Otherwise it is a "Focus of Opportunity (any random Electric object*)" wich would clock in at -1/4 tops. *HSMA uses Blast/RKA with Focus of Opportinuty for "throwing master" abilities. It might actually go to -1/2 if is his team is not carrying a lot of electronics around (or he would have to destroy the gear to use the blast). Just think what he could do with this if the fight took place in an abandoned warehouse/building site with no real wiring around. When in doubt the value of the Limitation is also an indication of how much a limitation you want it to be. The -1/4 version can propably use a lightbuld as source for this blast. If I declare TK, Only vs Water (inlcudung the water in humans bodies) this would be a lot less worth then "TK, Only Water(as in only loose water)"
Cassandra
Energy Blast, Indirect [Any Direction] (+1), Invisible [sight] (+1/2), Target Must Be In The Vicinity Of Electronic Equipment (-1/2)
