Re: The cranky thread
I'm at store #322, Dulles Town Center, Virginia. What's funny is that a ceiling tile collapsed last night and today our DSM is supposed to be visiting our store...that's going to be fun. Makes me happy I have today off.

Re: The cranky thread
Spectrum' date=' have you not been around much? Seems a while since I've seen you. PS - Sorry to find you cranky![/quote']I've been around, it's just that my work schedule has been sucking the life out of me lately, that and I just haven't felt inspired to post anything. Just past November I got promoted from simple sales associate to sales leader which is basicly a part time management position. There was supposed to be a raise with it but, for some reason, didn't take effect right away like it was supposed to. I worked through the entire hoilday season with more duties but at the same pay rate. It's been corrected so my next check should show my new pay rate plus back pay.
The week after Christmas was the worst with almost nothing but returns....for weeks I've had a desire to go on a murderous rampage leaving a trail of bloodied corpses in my wake.

Re: The cranky thread
I just spent my birthday working a 8 hour closing shift and nothing good happened. A ceilling tile fell due to a leak from a store above us, one of the registers I counted out came out waaaay under and other register came out waaay over. Not to mention all the returns I keep getting beacuse no one liked the gift they were given or changed thier minds on one of our high priced items. It was just a crappy way to spend that one particular day of the year.
Fortunately there was ice cream cake waiting for me at home and I spent the rest of the eveing watching the first two episodes of Macross Plus.
P.S. Working in retail, I have come hate people in general.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
No no' date=' I long for the velvet gloved iron fist that only rigid flexiblity can provide![/quote']Allow me to offer a different view of this thread. Don't think of it as anarachy, instead see it as a method of maintaining a balance between order and chaos. Whenever a serious thread is started, something like this one is created in order to maintain a sort of "cosmic balance." Black & white, good & evil, Yin & Yang, it's all about balance. And whenever Kara derails a thread, in essence, she is helping mainatin that balance whether she's aware of it or not.

Well if we don't have anarchy, what do we have? Oh wait, I know, chaos, you can't go wrong with a little chaos.

Re: for sale perfect for all your villanous needs
Looks more like a front for a vast undergorund complex to me. Like out of a Bond movie or something.

Re: Okay, Who's yer favorite Icon?
My favorite iconic charavter is without question, Spider-Man. For the his everyman quality and that despite all the tragedies, the hard times and all the crap he's been through, he manages to stick to his guns (pun not intended) and keeps on going. On a personal note, Spider-Man is also the character that introduced me to the world of superheros when I was a kid and he's just been my favorite overall superhero since.
But just to mention a couple of others...
Batman-A normal man who can hold his own with the heavy hitters.
Nightwing-The original Robin who's made an identity apart from The Bat and just 'cause I think he's cool.

Good one' date=' and I get it, too. I always felt that episode was kinda unfair, actually.[/quote']Twist endings were kind of a thing with The Twilight Zone, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Answers & Questions
A: I have no passwordQ: Do you have the password?
A: Well, aside from the huge explosion that wiped out half the planet and an IHOP, things went pretty smoothly.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
The Twilight Zone doesn't work that way!In that case, I'm gonna go out and get three extra pairs of glasses.
How's that for an obscure reference?

Anomaly? I thought you were a disease?Experts are still debating that that one.
What kind of experts, however, have yet to be determined.

Re: The cranky thread
Yeah, we're all set up for the National Body Challenge but we're a small store and we don't even have some of the stuff that's supposed to be on display.
One thing that has me a little nervous is that I've heard that Discovery is thinking of moving thier main office from Maryland to Sterling, Virginia. That means if they do then we'll have the mian office of the company just a few minutes away from the mall where our store is loacted, ugh.
And let me just get this out, while I know they're for a good cause and everything, I'm getting sick of the Live Strong bracelets. Nearly all the people who come in to buy them (mostly kids) have no clue what they're for. They just want them because it's the "in thing." A couple of our part timers came up with the idea of making brown rubber bracelets that say "Eat S***" and the thing is people probably would buy them with no clue as to what it says, they'd buy them becuase it's a rubber bracelet and it's the current "cool thing" to have.
