  1. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Well, I figure, your looking for PBEM experience. I'm looking to get a better feel of my world I'm working on. We don't need to play long or it could be an ongoing campaign. *shrugs* I'll let you know as I get more down.
  2. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I think I'm going to go code a database system now for Hero Characters in MySql.
  3. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Zornwil, you interested in my campaign?
  4. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I have no idea but that is a good observation.
  5. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER That would be correct.
  6. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER You guys are all nuts.
  7. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER And I am now tied with Zornwil for # of posts in this thread.
  8. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I'm also 5 posts (now 4) from 1,700 posts. Leaving both the Longest Thread and myself roughly 300 posts from the next landmark.
  9. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER We are getting there people. We are catching up with Catsuit. Keep up the good work.
  10. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER The game I will be running is a random portal pulls a bunch of Japanese school kids through to this alternate reality. The process causes them all to develop super powers. The world is run by bad guys with superpowers. The PBEM would likely be this alternate world before the bad guys have taken over everything.
  11. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Our lovely administrative staff in progress:
  12. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I may be doing a PBEM soon. Just to get the feel for the game world.
  13. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Zornwil, would your post earlier imply that you are actively interested in a PBEM campaign?
  14. Re: Players and GMS:Character Alteration I'm in a Buffy-verse PBEM game and my wife is joining. The GM asked me if I minded if there was any romance between our characters because he did want to get some level of romance going in the game. I thought he was crazy for asking it at first and then thought about it. I actually did have some scenarios that would bother me so set some rules. I didn't want to roleplay any sort of cheating unless it was a short-term Demon related plot device and even then, keep it low. As for what I will contribute to this discussion here: 1) It also depends on the nature of the campaign. A game I'm in now, the GM said at the start of it, the best chance you have of surviving is to not make a character. This game is known to be very dark and unpleasant things will happen. The GM is going over board or anything but we know the limits. 2) What do people think about building powers with Conditional Limitation (Only when the GM is screwing us over) and then having the GM set the value of the limitation. If the GM never screws you over (in his mind) and gives it a -2, you aren't wasting much points. Otherwise if the GM screws you over often, than he is either being honest up front about it (-1/4) or giving your a higher limitation than it should be (-1 for what should be a -1/4).
  15. Re: How many points? I would allow it... but that is because once the radiation does take place... the disadvantage would turn into a "Mystery Disadvantage" so that the GM can do his worst. This is a question for your GM though, not the boards. Oh Treb, don't forget the Perk "I brought the food!"
  16. Re: GMs: PC Scrutiny & Acceptance No, I know that DNPC's are not just hostage/victim. Joe Lightning has his mother as a Normal, Infrequent DNPC (10 Points) and has Secret ID). Lizard Guy has his sister as a Normal, Infrequent DNPC (10 Points). Joe Lightning gets 15 points for these disadvantages but Lizard Guy, who only gets 10 points has a much more limiting disadvantage because, unlike Joe Lightning, the bad guys can go right after his sister to get to him. I'd let a player have a family member DNPC with Secret ID but only with an 8- on the character. Plus the DNPC would have 4d6 of Unluck defined as "Always in the wrong place at the wrong time".
  17. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER And here is another one
  18. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Here's two of the same person
  19. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER F5 does the same thing (usually) as hitting Refresh on your broswer. You keep posting, I'll keep hitting F5 and pretty soon we weill have the highest WGAC around.
  20. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Keep Posting, I'm Pressing F5
  21. Re: GMs: PC Scrutiny & Acceptance DNPC Family Member is fine but the problem is when you pair it with Secret ID. It greatly limits what you can do. This is the fifth time she has coincidently been in a crowd of innocent bystandards during an enemy attack this week! Joe Lightning has a DNPC Relative and a Secret ID. His bad guy is looking for weaknesses and notices that five times now Joe Lightning has had a group of individuals and stepped in to rescue them and saved the same person first each time. He does a background check on this person and finds that coincidently, this person has a son who is the exact same height as Joe Lightning. Now this bad guy needs to test one or two more theories on this and he may have cracked this mystery. Versus Lois Lane who is just looking to get into trouble. Heck, being a reporter, you can put her in every single game and not worry about ruining a Secret ID at all. I'm not saying it isn't valid. I'm just saying I don't like it.
  22. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Have some Kitsune
  23. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Zornwil, your game you eluded to, is it online or table top? I'm itching for a campaign to throw Omnipresent into.
