  1. Re: Xbox 360 Version of Champions Online Being Held Back By MS Greetings I don't own an XBox, but I was hoping they would get this. It could instantly add a bunch of eager players, which in turn, is good for the game. The life span of a game these days, even a really good, popular MMO seems to be 3-4 years tops. People may still play after that, but no where near as many. Then it's on to the next version, or another game. So the more people playing... the better. If numbers don't increase, the life span of CO could be short.
  2. Re: List Your CO Nemesises! What?!?! You don't? That stinks. I'm lvl 22, and was looking forward to designing my arch enemy. How much control do you have? What do you get to choose?
  3. Greetings I was just wondering what you guys think, know, or wish is next on the horizon for CO? Will is be a Villians expansion? Or will it just be new content Expansions? Not that I'm tired of CO as it is right now.... just looking ahead.
  4. Re: List Your CO Nemesises! Yes! Red Delilah LIVES!!!! Thanks Guys!
  5. Re: List Your CO Nemesises! Greetings I'm thinking of staying in theme. For my main Character, Uncle Samson, basically a Captain America type, I was thinking of Red Delilah! Kind of a cross between Red Skull and well... Delilah. Too bad she can't weild giant scissors.
  6. Re: Poll On New Zones Thanks Certified for posting the list. I can see that Outer Space seems to be in the lead by quite a bit. I think I might go for Mysterious Locations or Other Dimensions, sounds like there could be a lot of groovy content. From a Developer perspective I would guess that Modern Urban or Dark Urban would be the easiest, since a lot of objects and character models could be used again or with minor modification. But I'm sure I'll love whatever they do... heck, I haven't even gotten to Monster Island yet.
  7. Re: Poll On New Zones Greetings I'm at work and can't access the CO website. Would someone mind posting the options?
  8. Re: Dr. Destroyer Missions On Thursday, September 17 Greetings I would love to join in. I really haven't found a "community" to join into yet. My Uncle Sampson is lvl 20 and climbing....
  9. Re: Martial Arts and AOE Greetings I've noticed this problem too. My main character started as MA, but has not taken most of his powers (with the exception of righteous fist and lunge) from other powersets, mainly Might. While I think there will, and should always be differences in each powerset, I also would say there are some core types of powers every set should have. 1 Power-Builder 1 Main Attack (the effects will be what separates these) 1 Block (again, with different effects that go with the powerset) 1 AoE Then you come to Ranged. This is a little dependant on your build. 2 Ranged Attacks (Melee) 1 Closing Ranged - If you are a Melee guy, you need something to close distance to your target. But that isn't the same as something to damage and stay at range. 1 True Ranged - where you can do some damage and still stay at range. (Ranged) 1 Single Target Ranged 1 Multi-Target Ranged Just my two cents.
  10. Re: PvPing: The Hero Games Greetings I think that there is the potential for a good quality PVP experience there, it just hasn't hit it's stride yet. I've been watching the development of this game for almost 2 years, and it seemed that PVP was a late addition. I think it still needs some work. One easy fix, that I've already suggested, is BIGGER ARENAS!!! There is really no way (at least not for me) to use any strategy or tactics in PVP with the current size. You just cannot even see who or where everybody is. I even have a hard time telling who is friend or foe. I repeat: BIGGER ARENAS!!!!
  11. Re: Crafting Greetings Most of the higher grade materials you can actually craft from lower grade ones. I think they are under "consumables".
  12. Re: Stats Discussion Greetings I think that Netzilla left out Strength. It of couse let's you pick up bigger objects to throw, adds some damage (although I've heard that it isn't very much), but also increases ability to break tangible holds and adds knockback. This last attribute is the main reason I shy away from taking too much strength. While throwing things at people is one of my main tactics, and it is nice to be able to break holds, Knockback seems like it defeats the purpose of combat anyway. While it may look cool, and give you that Uber feeling, then you have to go track the enemy down and finish them off. Not to mention it runs the risk of aggro'ing another mob. For my money Constitution or Endurance are the main stats for any build. Then Recovery or Dexterity. After that, take what you need. The others you can balance with items and other boosts.
  13. Re: Crafting Greetings I maxed out Arms @ 200 last night. I'm lvl 20 so I can't buy more until I hit lvl 21. I can make some sweet equipment though. I made a Primary Defense vest last night (don't ask the name since I'm at work) that was far and away better than anything I've gotten from drops or mission rewards. I think it had around 30 constitution, 5 recovery, some other stat I can't remember, and 8/8 defense. I can also make 10 slot bags. Yeah!
  14. Re: How much you playing? Greetings A week? Hard to say... I like that the game is one that you can easily login, Do a few missions, and logout. Many times I'll only play for 15-20 mins, just do a quick mission, mess with my crafting and equipment, build a new character, then back to RL. I probably say I put in about 12-15 hrs a week total. I could (and would) easily play more, but I've got to keep up the appearence that I'm a responsible adult.
  15. Re: Disappointment Greetings For me, CO still has way more potential to allow someone to play as the superhero of their creation then DCUO will. If I want to play as Batman, why not play a console game? It just seems weird to me... the whole concept. I played the Champions pen & paper way back, and it was great. But then I don't see how and MMO could come close to any Tabletop adventure. It's like comparing a book to a movie. They are totally different. I think, as a RPGMMO, CO is great and fun.
  16. Re: List Your CO Heroes! Greetings This is my main character, Uncle Samson. He's lvl 19 (almost to 20), a Martial Arts/Might combo with some Regeneration to boot. I've been having a blast with him. Can handle any mob (more often than not 2 mobs) with little effort, and usually only dies if he gets several villians or master villians on him at the same time. Consitution, Recovery, Endurance, in that order, with just enough Strength to chuck medium sized objects at people.
  17. Re: Abilities Discussion Greetings I've been doing well with Uncle Samson, my Martial Arts/Constitution brawler. I say if you want to solo, you need massive Constitution (I have around 63 at level 18) Endurance, and Recovery. You also should keep enough strength to be able to throw medium sized objects. This can be done with talents and gear. It really help to be able to throw an object, then fly in with some ranged attack, and then start beating away. Usually the first guy is almost down before you get there. As for passive, Regeration gets my vote. In most instances, unles you got yourself in a bad spot with multiple villians, you can just block and still manage to heal with everyone beating on you. At least this way you build power for a quick attack (hopefully something with a stun or hold), smack one down then go back to blocking until you're healed enough for the next guy. As for travel powers, nothing beats flight in my book. You can avoid aggro, and still see what you are getting into before you commit. I have Jet Boots. I know it sucks for some characters wanting to stay with a theme, but hey, you get what you get. And about the "Bullet for Bissle(sp?) Mission. What the heck is up with Sniper-X?!?! He's impossible. Ok, maybe not, but I wouldn't try without at least a group of 5. I tried last night with 2 others and could barely scratch him. Tough.
  18. Re: PvPing: The Hero Games Greetings I have tried the PVP, but find it frustrating. My main complaint is that the arenas are too stinking SMALL!!! If you could zoom out a little more and get a better idea of what is going on, where everyone was, it might be playable. As it is now I end up hitting the TAB until I find someone close, then mash the attack button. I really enjoyed the way Guild Wars had their PVP. Or if they add more types of maps, like Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Escort, Checkpoints, or any others, I think it could really add to the game as a whole. I really see a lot of potential in PVP, it just isn't there yet.
