  7. Has anyone here built a martial art for HERO that maximizes the advantages and minimizes the penalties for fighting in a zero gravity environment? Or, is there an already existing martial art style that would work well in a zero gravity environment?
  8. Re: STD carrier An absolute is an absolute. GM Fiat is something that can factor in any time, so it's a bit moot to bring that up.

  11. Re: STD carrier Hm...maybe. But how often do the prices fluctuate based on other complimentary abilities? Does, say, a Touch only power have a higher cost if the character in question can move 100,000 MPH?
  12. Re: STD carrier Would genre matter too? I mean, sex as an element of a campaign in a Four Colors setting would likely be different than sex as an element of a campaign in an Iron Age setting. If this is the case, wouldn't the "cost" fluctuate?
  13. Re: Societies forming around advanced/alien/forgotten purpose technology? Imagine a society where the poor/middle class live out in the plains while the the elite reside in an ancient spaceship with a reactor that always provides electricity...oh, and there's climate control too..

  15. Re: STD carrier Erm, I didn't think -1 was definitely appropriate for the kind of limitation I had in mind. I basically mentioned that I saw it as at least -1 (it could go higher, based on precedence elsewhere, or perhaps someone has a number they've used with such a power that makes more sense). There's also the Transform option, which I hadn't previously thought of. (Funny enough, the "No Absolutes" policy got broken pretty quickly in the Advanced Player's Guide, plus being able to be immune to a disease (in the Core books) seems like an Absolute to me.)
  16. Re: STD carrier Is the poison something permanent unless treated, or does it eventually fade away? Is there a modification to cost either way?

  18. Re: STD carrier Where? The only thing I saw were a bunch of links talking about disease in general, and 5E supplements (I use 6E). Huh? The thread is not about whether something should come up, but how it should work via mechanics. The topic drifted, buttocks or no.

  20. Re: Ctrl+V Andre dropped out of high school in the eleventh grade, and he’s been in the streets since. He was a pretty good student, and a pretty good athlete, but when his mother got sick he needed money, fast. His father wasn’t there, so he had to step up, because medical bills were piling. She fought for a year, and for a while the cancer went into remission. His mother knew what he did, but never acknowledged it. Then the cancer came back. Now, he leads a simple life, following a cautious pattern, making money the only way he knows how. He’s got a floor safe in a body shop near his house, an arrangement with the owner of the garage. He’s had a string of girlfriends, but nothing’s been serious with any of them. He smokes a lot of pot, self-medicating to deal with the issues in his life. He keeps his had down, but can protect himself if he needs to. He’s selective with his clientele, and he keeps stacking paper. He's just got a new pack in, his biggest yet, could be worth almost 30K on the street. But he doesn't work on the street anymore, he's a few steps up the ladder now, so it'll get him a little bit less than 25, but it's a lot safer. He answered the text with skepticism, but he's not going to get caught with his pants down like some dumb idiot if it's not bullshit.
  21. Re: Ctrl+V Tucson Arizona, April 23rd, 1967. It was a beautiful sunny spring day in Tucson, Arizona. Christopher McKay sat at his front porch, in his usual relaxed pair of jeans and his favourite T-Shirt, reading a letter he had just received. It was from the U.S. Army, so he had a pretty good idea what it was about. The war had been going on for quite a while now, and he was surprised he had not already been sent to Vietnam in order to fight. He had enrolled in the Reserves ever since he had been 18, and now, three years later, he is about to have his first sight of action. The letter read; "Dear Private McKay, we are in desperate need of more soldiers in order to support in the effort over in Vietnam. Since you are a member of the Reserves, you have your training all accomplished, and thus, we are sending you to Vietnam within a week. Be prepared for departure on the 30th of April." He was shocked, for the day before he had bought the love of his life an engagement ring, he wanted nothing but her, but now he was off to war, maybe never to return. He had to tell her, so he called "Marie! Can you come out here for a moment?" She noticed the slight strain in his voice, the voice she had loved for oh so long. She came out of the house dressed in a light green blouse that went perfect with her deep green eyes, and her dark brown hair going just past her shoulders, and a pair of black dress pants that fit her so amazingly. "Yes dear?" she asked, a bit of strain in her voice. He took her hand, and said "Babe, the army sent me a letter, they're sending me to Vietnam next week." "WHAT!" she exclaimed, "You can't go to 'Nam! Do you have ANY idea how many soldiers have died over there? I don't want to lose you!" she looked at him with the puppy dog eyes that always end any other argument. He looked into her beautiful green eyes, and said in all seriousness "Marie, I love you with all my heart, without you I would be nothing, but this is something I have to do, I will come back, if it's the last thing I do, I WILL see you again." He squeezed her hand when he was saying this.
