  3. Re: Ctrl+V It was a dark night, the only light came from the orange harvest moon. A tall dark figure came running across the rooftops. The silhouette was muscular looking, but sill looked thin. Jumping from roof to roof with great agility and prowess he proved very agile. A slick smile across his long muzzle, a cunning thought in his head. He put a finger up to an ear. The small earpiece buzzed for a few seconds then it silenced. A bored voice came in on his earpiece. "This should be where you enter" the voice said nonchalantly. This evening was no different from all the others, which bored him to tears. Just in and out with the goods, the other end had a different idea. "Got it" the dark figure exclaimed in a joking tone. He was excited for many reasons. He positioned himself onto the flagpole across the building. The flag of Rome was flapping in the small breeze. With a leap he made it across the large gaps of building. Ending his landing with a somersault. He walked quite casually to the sunroof of the Nigro Memorial Science Institute. He examined the window and reached onto his back. He pulled out a small machine with a glowing tube on top. He pulled a lever on top and a small stream of glowing liquid squirted from the nozzle. Once the stream hit the side of the window it burned a hole in that spot. The shadow traced the whole entire window until it was totally disconnected. He slowly lifted the glass to the newly established science institute. It was a tiny bit heavy but nothing that he couldn't handle. The edges were still white hot but he was used to it. He slipped in and landed on the floor without so much as a sound. The window was soon forgotten once it was closed and fused the same way it was opened. He scrounged around a small pouch on the side of his leg and pulled out a pair of sunglasses. As he put on the special pair of glasses the schematics for the whole institute came up to view.

  5. Re: Ctrl+V When someone throws a rock or grenade at you with the intent to harm/kill you, do they stay in a predefiend corridor a few feet wide, and heavily telegraph their intentions ahead in time where you can afford to stand stock-still with all your attention focused on the attacker?

  10. Re: Ctrl+V Oh speaking of Stealth, I remember a 3.5 game once in which all of the players had fairly stealthy, skirmisher type characters (an archer ranger that sniped from the trees, a dual wielding dagger rogue/swashbuckler/invisible blade, and an orc barbarian) and one was a fully decked out sword and board Fighter in full plate. We were all max ranked stealthy characters and even the Barbarian had a decent Dex (so he could max out with his Breastplate), but the Fighter had a negative modifier to his check when his armor/shield/gear and pitiful Dex was taken into account. At this point, while it was just proposed as a joke, I realized that the Orc, who had A Strength of, I believe, 24, could actually carry the human fighter, and, even considering the weight of the Fighter and all his gear, still have a bonus in excess of +10. So, this guy walking on his own, had something like a -5 to Stealth. This guy being cradled by his Orc buddy had something like a +15 to Stealth. Totally ridiculous.

  12. Re: Ctrl+V She took another satisfying bite, smothering the warmth of the cheese, meat, and ketchup as they melted against her tongue, where she let it rest for a few moments as she closed her eyes and savored the taste that she had been longing for since the beginning of her academic semester. The food on her campus, though much more nutritious, just couldn't compare with what she was used to eating in Raccoon. Three months had gone by quickly, and though she loved her experiences in college, even she had to admit that she was ready for winter break after two hellish weeks of finals and papers.
  13. Re: Eccentric but plausible ways a character could be rich? Have you ever ran or been in a Dark Champions game where corporate espionage was the driving motivation to adventure?
  14. Re: Eccentric but plausible ways a character could be rich? Fairly upstanding, yeah. One idea I had in mind was the invention of a new very-efficient fuel cell.

  18. For a "modern day" character (1980 onwards), what kind of background could be fun yet practical that explains their great wealth?
