  2. Re: Ctrl+V My grand parents had a savings plan that was simple. Everything they bought was slightly less than what they wanted. For example My grandfather liked Camel cigarettes, to save money he rolled his own. Then put the difference in 'The jar' Same thing with his beer He liked one brand but bought the cheapest Then put the difference in 'The jar' when it was full it went into 'the barrels'. 4 1/2 barrels for one car. after they bought the car they bought their favorites again. When they wanted something else they found somthing that they could give up for a time, until they had the money. Then back to their favorites. I thought it was an austere way to live but they said "You should have seen the Depression." My grand father and grand mother bought a car with the pennies. The salesman and my grandmother sat on the flooor of the dealership for three days rolling them up in sleeves. While my grrand father wheelbarrowed them from there basment stash of cash. 14 blocks 1 3/4 miles round trip.. lt was 800$. in 1939. it was a 1929 plymouth. at Hinkley Dodge Ogden, Utah. Unfortunately they where not allowed to stay a dealership when Crysler reorganized a few years ago. People are jerks today as Rondney said "Can't we all just get along?"

  5. Re: Ctrl+V Played a single session of (2nd ed? Maybe?) D&D where they spent an entire four hour session trying (and failing) to get across a river. It was a bit less fun than it sounds, and I did not return.
  6. Re: Ctrl+V Mm hm. The difference between Social Stigma and Intolerance is a subtle but still important one.
  7. Re: The Treasure Thread A scale which speaks the amount placed upon it. (To follow my "bonsai" tree item) A miniature version of a full grown animal, such as a pet tiger or pet blue whale. Continuously heated clothing.
  8. Re: Ctrl+V Outside, Alexis is sitting around, minding his own business on the large flat rock that provides a lot of shade to whatever it is that would choose to live under said rock. The sun feels quite good on his skin. A warming, tingling sensation almost, running up his back as he sits there looking at the dust being gently blown around by the occasional breeze. He notices something out of the corner of his eye. Something on his shoulder. Something black and about the size of a mans fist with eight toothpick length things sticking out of the sides of it. There's a shock of bright red on it too. He freezes up.

  14. Re: Ctrl+V A tourist bus carrying a load of tourists of many types is heading towards a large town which is marked on the map as Raccoon City. It's dark outside as it's nine pm. in the evening. All passengers are minding their own business, asleep or reading the paper. A boy around fifteen in the age leans his head over his shoulder as he looks outside into the dark night. He brushes some of his brown hair from the way of his eyes. The boy is considered roughly built and is wearing a black leather jacket with the zipper open, revealing a dark green t-shirt that seems a bit tight. Added with a pair of dark blue jeans that seem brand new that were held up with a brown belt. He kicks the floor of the bus with his brown sneaker covered feet and brushes some dust off his pitch black fingerless gloves. He gazes out with his dark green eyes and sighs as a sign of boredom. "Three more cities to go..." he sighs and seems to doze off. The bus enters the city with the streets seeming empty. The passengers who were awake were a bit spooked by the city. It seemed like a ghost town rather than a busy metropolis. The driver is calmly turning around the corner... but as he turns a man is stumbling right in the middle of the road. The driver made a sharp turn, scaring many passengers and waking all of the sleeping ones. But then even more people were on the road with the driver making sharper and sharper turns to avoid them, but the bus finally falls over, knocking almost all passengers out, including the boy.
