  1. Re: "Neat" Pictures

Not only aircraft carriers' date=' either. All US Warships have a 'Countermeasure Washdown' system.[/quote']

It's usually doing shortly after sealing all hatches and providing positive air pressure to the ship so that nothing can sneak in.

I suppose it simplifies parallel parking' date=' but other than that I don't see much point...[/quote']

But that is the point! There is no point! I once saw a car with two front ends (one on the front where it belongs and one on the back) at a car show. When I asked the guy why his response amounted to "why not?" Apparently there is a group of car enthusiasts that just like to make weird stuff.

  3. Re: Succor Endurance Reserve

I believe that' date=' under 5e rules, adjustment powers affect END reserves as if they were normal END (ie 2 END per point rather than 10 END per point).[/quote']

Yeppers. I've had a couple of END Reservey characters over the years, and am rather familiar with the rules in this area.

    Try this one. ;)

You mean I'm not alone? There was always just something juicey about a nicely loaded Shadow Hawk. I think part of it was that it's weight still gave it some decent speed and it had a nice weapons load (stock) that wasn't too heat intensive, not too ammo intensive and versatile.

I DO love a Shadow Hawk!

  5. Re: Self Defense Course

I've done a basics martial arts training as enough levels to provide +1 DC.

A lot of the self-defense classes focus on "STOMP his instep" type knowledge and situational awareness (most notably not freezing up when confronted) as a foundation as opposed to some kind of actual martial art.

The manuevers they are likely to teach are eye-gouges, a simple throw and an escape. You could possibly throw in a more conventional strike (possibly Defensive).

That is the basic level you would learn at a community center in a 6-week Self Defense course.

  6. Re: The Beam limitation?

That does bring up a point. I can't tell you the last time I saw someone spread or bounce an attack OR use a power at less than full strength. However we also don't very often run into a combat situation where you would be fighting someone other than another super. If you run into a regular old joe (of the non-GI variety) I could see a lot of situations where you might not want to use the full on 4d6k. I guess this is my fault for not exploring this situation a bit more...and that I plan on rectifying! >8)

  7. Re: 3 pt CSL vs 5 pt CSL

Did you read through 6E1, p70? There are some good examples.

However, to cut to the chase:

    - all swords = 3pts

    - all daggers = 3pts

    - all bladed weapons = 5pts

    - all axes = 3pts

    - all melee weapons = 8pts

One Handed Swords and Two Handed Swords are similar enough in style that I don't think I would make the distinction.

All Swords and Daggers is 'All Bladed Weapons' and is 5pts.

Sword and Axe work tends to be distinctive enough that I'm not sure I would allow them to be grouped together. I would tend towards two separate categories.
