Otherwise, in the near future, it will just be more of the same, but taken up another notch. And as for Predators and other long-range drones, they could provide round-the-clock air surveillance for surface battle groups and convoys . . .

I'd say that the only non-hard element in my campaign would be the gravitic warp drive -- all other technologies I think could well exist in three hundred years time. Uplifted chimps, gorillas and orangs; very controlled nanomacinery (takes a long time to do their thing, requires massive power, and takes a very specifically controlled environment); backpack lasers and particel guns; powered armor and robots using artificial "muscles" . . .

Re: Norse Beastiary - a little help . . . Iron is a problem. Supernatural beings in later stories (late medieval and onwards) were very sensitive to it. As a gaming trope, it's not very handy, except maybe for flavour. I mean, how many characters don't carry around at least a knife? I advise to ignore this bit. On the other paw, different critters can be sensitive to different herbs and woods -- like rowan, and whatchamacallit, deadly nightshade. Since each critter has its own specific Achilles heel that the characters have to figure out, that can be a major task if up against some really big monster . . .
