  1. Easy one: Is there an OCV penalty for making a Half-Move in the same Phase you attack? Assume for purposes of this question that the attack takes half a Phase. I don't see anything in 5ER regarding this, nor would I expect to, but I've seen it come up a couple times in play and wanted to clarify.
  2. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I don't want to get into a whole thing here, and I certainly don't want to go against your authoritative decree about what's funny and what's not, but in this instance, IMO, "Quit stalling and smash our balls" is only funny because it's out of context. Putting it in context will do nothing but let me know how it made sense in the first place. I don't want to know how it made sense-- not knowing makes it funnier, to me, because I can use my imagination to fill in the blanks. We already know there was a double entendre, because it's highly doubtful anyone would just order someone to crack him in the nuts (unless here were into that); getting additional confirmation would only weaken the joke, IMO, according to the age-old rule of "Less is More." So you do what you like Jhereg. In context, out of context... whatever flips your switch.
  3. Re: Character for review:Ran threw: past tense of "throw." He threw the ball. through: preposition meaning, among other things, in one side and out the other. He threw the ball through the hoop. throughout: during every part of. He threw the ball through the hoop throughout the game. I get extra anal-retentive at 3:30 in the morning.
  4. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From last night's D20 Star Wars finale (this is best out of context): "I may have made a mistake." For the record, yes, he did. He'll be missed.
  5. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... ::Bad Joke Ahead:: Last night's M&M game. The heroes arrive at the scene of a tech theft just in time to catch the thieves exiting the building through a hole they've blasted in the sixth floor. A man is thrown from the hole; Solar Core catches him in mid-air and returns him safely to the ground. His name is Dr. Clarence Clearwater. "Clarence Clearwater... is he unconscious?" "Yeah. Why?" "Wake him up. It'll be a Clarence Clearwater Revival!"
  6. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... "You just killed your father. Gain two Dark Side points."
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... "God damn it! He sure knows his kung fu!"
  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Thanks! I just learned how to take captures in Windows Media. Jiggle Billy was the first JPG I made. "So... we jigglin', or...?"
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Maybe it's just me, but... this game sounds awful. I mean, like, not fun. From what you've described, it sounds like the GM plays favorites and the (only?) other player actively tries to make trouble. Please tell me it's better than it seems.
  11. Re: Suddenly Alone on the Stations Didn't this exact scenario-- or something quite like it-- actually happen? I remember Pilot giving up an arm for some reason or other, but that it wasn't a big deal: he knew he'd grow it back eventually.
  12. Re: Suddenly Alone on the Stations I know it's not completely apropos, but what about Silent Running, with Bruce Dern? Y'know, where he's a "space druid" of sorts on a ship that houses some of the last remnants of Earth's ecosystem.
  13. Drain does Knockback? I'm not sure that Limitation's, y'know, legal. Also, you might want to put Ranged, or at least Personal Immunity, on this.
  14. What with one thing and another last night, a shrunken Hummingbird, unsuccessful in her attempts to Mind Control our energy projector, was knocked back 17" into the hull of a nearby ship, knocking her halfway into next week and leading to this exchange: "Also, the authorities pick up Hummingbird." "What, do they put her in a jar?" "They put her in an ambulance."
  15. I know this isn't the answer to the question you've asked, but instead of what you've done here, I'd make his nemesis one of two things: 1) A Normal high-profile religious fanatic (e.g., a televangelist type with lots of PRE and Followers who turns public opinion against the PC and/or stoops to hiring lower-powered supervillains of questionable character to destroy the PC in the name of all that is holy and good. 2) Another demon, like what the PC used to be, who hates to see a fellow demon "go straight." Even better: the demon is under the guise of the Normal religious fanatic, above, and leads a highly-secretive double life as an agent of Hell. Anyway! Carry on.
