I finished reading the Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson yesterday. An interesting twist on both the western and fantasy genres as it is set in the world of the Mistborn trilogy, but three centuries later, when the world has evolved into a pseudo 19th century, with the addition of Allomancers and Ferruchemists. Since the major villain escaped capture, I suspect that this will be the first book in a new trilogy.

boardgame rather than RPG, by me in the middle of Judge Dredd.

Background. In the game you visit various sectors where crimes are reported and you then arrest the criminals responsible. This is against the other players who are playing Judges as well. If you get killed you go to the hospital and then have to come out and start trying to arrest someone elsewhere. But the vendettas the game spawns can be legendary and such fun as you seek to deprive the other judges of arrests usually by sending them to hospital or away from a crime.

    So the quote.
'Who wants to die and go to prison ?'

From a one-shot game that featured lots of really goofy villains, including an homage to Vincent Price's classic Egghead from the Batman live-action series:
GM: "Egghead throws an egg (what else) at you ... going to abort to Dodge?"
    PC: "An egg? Pfft. No."
GM: "The fragmentation egg-splosive goes off, dealing" (clatter of dice) "Holy $*@(*. 22 Body Killing and 44 Stun." (on 4d6 KA, for the record).
PC: "Crap, I've only got 10 Resistant defenses."
    Me: "That'll leave a Mork."

(If you don't get it, you're too young.)

From a Vampire game a few weeks ago.

Player: I wasn’t planning to have to role play this out.
GM: It is a Role Playing Game!

GM: You’re cutting cheese in my general direction.
    (She really was slicing cheese.)

GM: You feel as if you’d walked into the lion’s den with a steak tied to your face.
Player: The kind cut from the side of a cow, not from the limb of a tree.

Situation: The party has fought and wounded the monster, who dove through a hole in the cave floor. The party hears a 'splah' as it hits water and starts to swim away. Priestess Anara has just completed a spell that may knock the monster unconscious, but she has to touch the target.

    Bert: Can you swim?

Anara: No. Someone can tie a rope around me and lower me down.

    Bert: [Push]

    Anara:

Here we are, having just finished off Viperia (I made an awesome roll on a killing attack, but we'd been chipping away at her for several phases). We've also just fought our way past several Viper agents with very dangerous weapons. My character, The Greek, is frustrated and angry because people keep using the Viper weapons to kill agents, and she has a CvK. And her chariot (which is built something like the chariot that carried the sun in Greek legends) vanished on her when she crashed it through a frozen security door, dumping her very unceremoniously on the floor.

So she calls up her chariot, and it takes its sweet time. When it DOES appear, she screeches, "Horses of the gods?!?!? Warhorses of the gods my ASS!"

Everyone lost it. And when they stopped laughing, they convinced me to share it here.

Stokely: All that I've seen is people being mean to me and to eachother. I've always known that because I've always been picked on and hurt! So is that how it's always going to be for me? I'll never be happy, just miserable?

    (Long Pause.)

Caleb: I'm sorry. Did you want me to disagree?

    ------------

Caleb: People aren't making fun of you half as much as you think they are. And if they are, it wouldn't hurt to hit back once in a while. Unless, of course, they're bigger or stronger than you.

Stokely: I'm not going to hit people. It would make me no better than the bullies that they are.

Caleb: And if this were an after-school special, I would agree with you.

    -------------

Stokely (a fledgling vampire): I really know how to screw things up and all I'm trying to do is make sense of it all. I just want these bad feelings to go away and never return, or at least not return for a very, very, very long time.

Caleb (an experienced vampire): Oh, that's simple. You just have to get numb to the pain. Eventually, you'll stop feeling bad. You'll stop feeling anything right around the time you start to get competent.

Caleb: It's kinda like working an entry level job at a corporation.
