  1. I've just reread the DCV checklist from 6e2 and it clearly states that halving is always the last step.

For the same reason there is no way to purchase a 'positive' OCV when moving at noncombat velocity.

For that reason it doesn't matter what the source of the DCV modifier is ( limited dcv, csl, dpsl or maneuver ) the halving will occur last.

Shew, what a relief!  Thanks for the heads-up, my friend.  This is a great forum.  I am very honored to be here and to get to talk to all of you regarding learning this system and running a campaign.  Thank you, all, for your support and help.  :)

To add a little more detail to Lord Liaden's post...  5e was essentially a FAQ update to 4e. 5er was an official update incorporating all of Steve Long's 5e FAQ answers from the forum. Likewise, 6e was an attempt to adress all the complaints against 5e/5er including lack of color.

  3. THE “NUll ZONE”
As the text indicates, a Held Action is lost at the beginning of the Segment on which the character’s next Phase occurs.  us, there’s a “null zone” between the start of that Segment and the start of the character’s Phase (which begins on his DEX in that Segment).  is may create some di culties if a character wants to Hold his Action in anticipation of something his foe will do when the foe has a higher DEX.
In this situation, the GM should apply some common sense and dramatic sense. If a char- acter wants to Hold his Action in anticipation of a foe’s conduct, the GM could use the Held Action to, in essence, move the character “up” in the initiative order for the Phase, so he can “go  rst” before his foe only for the purposes of starting another Held Action. But if players start abusing this privilege, or it causes problems, the GM should stop allowing this and revert to the strict letter of the rules.

Are you sure that was one of the biggest complaints?

Not that it was just overall a bad movie?

Exactly.  The biggest problems with the movie was the director not clearly knowing which GL they were using. Not ALL GL's create detailed objects with an artists precision. Hal was always known for SIMPLE. The performance and sfx were indicating Kyle. The other issue was about the crappiest choice of a first villain. The DCAU's approach of using Sinestro to begin with would have worked much better.

  5. I recently added the following to my John Wick Chapter 2 build.

10  7) Defensive Attack (Custom Skill)

[Notes: From APG1 page 38 - Defensive Attack

A character with this optional new Combat Skill has a heightened ability to avoid attacks in combat. He only suffers a -2 DCV when making a Multiple Attack (6E2 73), rather than his DCV being halved. (This includes Multiple Attacks made with the Two-Weapon Fighting Skill.) No roll is required, and all other Multiple Attack penalties and rules apply. Defensive Attack costs 10 Character Points and applies to all forms of Multiple Attack. If a character only wants to be able to use it with Multiple Attacks only featuring HTH attacks, or only featuring Ranged attacks, he can apply a -1 Limitation, HTH Multiple Attacks Only or Ranged Multiple Attacks Only.]
