Jason S.Walters got a reaction from EPohlman for an article, Blast From The Past! The Broken Kingdoms ZIP
The Broken Kingdoms is a campaign setting for your Fantasy Hero (4th Edition) game. Within it you will find the brave knights of Allemaine, the swashbuckling Sea-Princes of Calabria and the Tarsan Warlords, masters of all forms of physical combat. Sail with the demigod heroes of the Pallean Free Cities, or struggle against oppressive overlords in the urban squalor and trackless forests of the Provinces. Fencing and fighting, true love and miracles, the Broken Kingdoms have enough to keep any company of adventurers busy.

Jason S.Walters got a reaction from scoolio for an article, New Product: Mutants & Masterminds: Deluxe Champions Handbook
An official announcement from our friends fans at Green Ronin!
"For far too long, we here at Green Ronin have stuck our head in the sand and focused entirely on the Mutants & Masterminds game engine, ignoring the many other superhero game systems that came before. And ultimately, that kind of myopia doesn’t benefit anyone but ourselves. Our fans deserve better. We’ve long partnered with Steve Kenson’s Adamant Entertainment to bring you Icons Superpowered Roleplaying, and so we have reached out to the creators of other amazing superhero game engines, both active and defunct, to begin the new Mutants & Masterminds System Upkeep, Collaboration, & Knowledge Exchange Roundtable. Our goal is to bring you the great Mutants & Masterminds products you love, for the systems you play!"
"Releasing at the end of this month is the new Mutants & Masterminds: Deluxe Champions Handbook, powered by classic Champions 3rd edition! Everything you need to play a Champions-powered Mutants & Masterminds campaign, complete with extensive point-buy systems our fans already love, plus tracking END to pay for your powers, sorting your attacks in Killing and Non-Killing, and many other elements that add a much-needed authenticity M&M has always lacked. A lot of you will ask “why not use Hero System, Sixth Edition or Champions Complete?” And that is an excellent question. One which I have no answer to. Licensing is a strange mistress and the rites must be observed."

Jason S.Walters got a reaction from Cantriped for an article, New On Kickstarter! Extinction Event
New on Kickstarter! Extinction Event is a table-top roleplaying campaign guide for Champions Complete that introduces the alternate Earth of 2045 — a world in the grip of shadowy conspiracies. Over millennia a strange and secret alien invasion has been shaping the destiny of humankind. From the demise of the Neanderthals to the rise and fall of great cities and cultures, the invaders have sown chaos and confusion.

Now, in 2045, their dark plans near fruition. Fractured, distracted, and deceived human societies are almost ripe for conquest. In these twilight years before the coming storm, a new breed of humans with psychic powers walks the earth. They are the soldiers of PALADIN, the acolytes of the Illuminati, and hunted outcasts of society. It’s the stories of their lives that power the adventure that is Extinction Event!

The Extinction Event campaign guide provides everything players and game masters (GMs) need to play exciting science fiction conspiracy adventures fraught with military, espionage, and underworld threats. You can become heroes with the special skills, specialized gear, and psychic powers needed to take on the New World Order!

Extinction Event makes that easy to experience with Champions Complete compatibility, guidelines that speed-up play, resources for reducing GM prep-time, and art/story elements that can be used with any roleplaying rules. Back it, baby, back it!

Jason S.Walters got a reaction from Amorkca for an article, S.I.D.s Report - Denier & Co. PDF
S.I.D.s is short for Super-powered Individual Database. This is a database that various government agencies are starting to use to keep track of all the various villains and heroes. Over the last few years the number of super-powered individuals has skyrocketed.

It has become a full time job to try and keep track of them as well as update information about the, that is the purpose of this database. The database is designed to give law enforcement as much information as possible on supervillains or superheroes they may need to call for help.

This is a series of small products that will introduce new villains and heroes for you campaign.

This installment will re-introduce Denier & Co: An organization of 5 individuals all determined to become rich and powerful. They all follow the vengeful and somewhat unstable Denier. They also have connections with the Ali Baba Thieves, a mercenary group. This group was originally introduced in the adventure School Holiday by legendary RPG writer Aaron Allston.

Includes Hero Designer files & printable cardboard miniatures.

Jason S.Walters got a reaction from Cantriped for an article, Hero Games and Heroic Comics
There have been some questions lately about what relationship Hero Games has with Heroic Comics, both historically and in terms of their current projects. The simple answer to the later question is that DOJ Inc, the current owners of the Hero Games intellectual property, has never entered into an agreement with Heroic Comics, aren't currently working on any projects with them, have no active communication with them, and share no properties in common with them. In short, we have no relationship.

Historically speaking, back in 1987 (when I was a senior in High School and Steve Long was just entering law school), Hero Games signed an agreement with Heroic Comics to publish a Champions comic book using certain specific characters from (I think) the third edition Champions Universe. These characters they do have the rights to: which is why they were not as I understand it in the forth edition or subsequent versions of the Champions Universe. We hope this clears up any misunderstandings that may have arisen.

Jason S.Walters got a reaction from tkdguy for an article, Goodbye Balabanto
It is with great sadness that I tell you my friend and associate Michael Satran, known on the Hero Forums as Balabanto, passed away on the evening of October 28, 2017. Michael was a Hero System superfan, and the author of numerous zany supplements and settings for the Champions roleplaying game, including Journey to the Center of the Earth, King of the Mountain, War of Worldcraft, and Foxbat for President. He also tackled more serious and darker subjects in works such as Imaginary Friends, Unkindness, and Pretty Hate Machines. Though it is not widely known, for years Michael volunteered to help with the Indie Press Revolution booth at GenCon, stalwartly assisting us in the not-very-glamorous business of setting up, tearing down, inventorying products, helping with the marshaling yard, and generally doing what he could to help the RPG small press. He was a sincere, generous, and kind man, always eager to help a friend in need. I will miss him greatly. Amicus Aeternum Vale.
