  1. I'm currently starting a Urban Fantasy Hero campaign based on Hudson City Shadows (but darker), in brief the campaign starts in 2012 where the magic level , which has been steadily rising since the late 1800s, has finally gotten high enough for combat spells (cast in one turn) and magical creatures to exist. Anyway I was considering rewriting the origin of some of the villians to reflect a more mystical source. here's what I have so far: Pulsar Similar except that Viper is actually run by the Lemurians, and their Technology is actually Scientific-Sorcery, so when he was strapped into the machine it was actually infusing him with Corusqua giving him lightning based power, further whenever he uses his powers he radiates a magical signature. Further because Corusqua is unstable in an atmosphere whenever his skin is broken (KA) it reacts causing him pain, his Vulnerability to Killing Attack. Adonis Always attractive when he was a young teenager he found former Supermodel Helios's body who apparently had committed suicide, when he looked closely at the corpse he was possessed by the spirit of the Greek Demigod Adonis, giving him god-like Strength, Agility and Charm, but he soon came to realise that it had a price, Adonis is associated with Youth and as he got older and his Beauty began to fade the spirit struggled to break free to seek a more Youthful Host. To avoid this he became obsessed with Cosmetic Surgery as he feels he can supress the spirit if he regains his looks. Next Foxbat??
  2. Re: So how did you guys learn the system? Our group decided in 1985 to play Champions 1st edition and we learnt by doing, you'll make a few mistakes along the way but the basics of the system aren't that hard to master.
  3. Re: HWY: "Take a bullet" Force Wall with Invisible Power Effect, usable by others, Feedback.
  4. Re: DEMON: A nitpick! I suspect the writer of the DEMON sourcebook simply decided he wanted a demonhame in Australia, didn't know much aqbout the country and picked Canberra as it is the nations capital, unfortunately at that time 1843, Canberra wasn't a city, probably wasn't even settled by europeans. The only city of note would have been Sydney (founded in 1788), a better time and locale would have been Melbourne in the gold rush time (1850s-1880s), when it was the richest city (outside of London) in the British Empire. Canberra was founded in the early 1920 from a sheep station which had been aquired by the Federal Government as the National Capital after federation in 1901, and the capital was moved from Melbourne in 1927.
  5. Re: Clown, Inc. and of course one of their associate members was none other then Grond, who used to hang out with them occasionally for fun.
  6. Re: Clown, Inc. Last Time we encountered CLOWN in a campaign, our resident Sword Wielding Maniac found himself beheading a Ronald McDonald statue in the middle of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, just before the giant piantasaurus exploded all over the government officials in the centre of the city. Personally i've found from experience that CLOWN is a greater threat to the GM's continuing health then its is to the PCs. We must therefore bring them back into the mainstream champions universe, its a moral imperative.
  7. Re: How to handle RKA? As 3d6 KA can kill a normal (average body 10.5 from the attack), let him use it in combat against a thug who due to his unluck forgot to wear his armour today, and is killed, after the battle have the police (or Primus if you think he won't go quietly) arrest the PC and charge him with Murder (or Manslaughter), he's now facing 10 years to life, and hopefully he'll learn not to do this for his next character.
  8. As a quick explanation my current character in a Teen Champions/DCTAS campaign set in Vibora Bay is Paladin a brick with minor light powers, who as an Christian Motif Character, wears a costume consisting of a Pure White Body suit with Gold Trimmings. In Yesterdays adventure while we were searching for the Lair of Doctor Midnight, before he could block out the Sun (very important i had a date that Weekend and we were going to the Beach), i had to go through the sewers and the swamp, getting my costume filthy. This set me to thinking about a power that would allow you to keep your costume from getting dirty, and after rejecting Change Enviroment, and Transform-both of which could be used to clean it, but not to keep it clean, i decided on the following Force Wall PD 1/ED 0 (Persistant + 1/4, Always On -1/2, 0 End + 1/2, Self Only -1/2, Restricted Shape -1/4, Fully Invisible +1, Only to keep away dirt -2, OIHID -1/4) active cost 6.5 real cost 1.5 pts. Basically your surrounded by an invisible field that repels dirt from your costume. i know this is a silly power, but i thought it could be a fun build.
  9. Re: How to handle RKA? I can't understand members who complain that there players are too powerful, too deadly etc, when you start a campaign you should sit down with the players and establish some basic guidelines ie: no killing attacks above 6DCs etc, if the players then produce characters which are clearly in breach of these guidelines then you veto the character. if they don't like it, then play something else.
  10. Re: Who Protects Them? Sir John Bull he's a brick with near invulnerability , who protects the Queen of England, he has the ability to share his defences at range with one other person, basically he stays within line of sight of Queen Elizabeth at all times she is in public.
  11. Re: Help with a power for character I would just use a Multipower with all slots as Ultras's at the full value of the power, thereby only allowing him to have one slot active at a time, its limitations would be 1) Incantations -to change slots, must say Inventory 2) Gestures - to change slots, Must reach in to get items 3) Misc Limitation - cannot change slots unless he has item to replace. the rest is just SFX.
  12. Re: having problems with my 1st attempt at a multipower My concern is the number of charges, as charges recover automatically between adventures (unless you purchase otherwise), i can't understand why you would need 64 shots per adventure, 8 seems enough to me.
  13. Re: So...About Seeker... And he won't be missed.
  14. Re: waiting for a good roll I would not permit a power like this in any campaign i was running, its blurring the line between what the player knows to what the character knows.
  15. Re: Question: 'Class of Mind' Cost i guess the easy way out is for your "Bird-Form" to purchase "Shapeshift-mental sense group-one form only, with impersonation" this should reflect your mental signature being that of a bird.
