  1. A very bizarre question. Perhaps, not easily answered. What would be involved in coverting a HERO character to D20 and vice-versa?

  3. Re: Symbiotic Relationship Yes, yes and not sure. Not sure because if each entity has something like EC, MP or VPP it is going to be up to the Game Master. I would tend to say 'no' to the last question unless some sort of Advantage Cost comes in to play that make is more reasonable.
  4. Re: Read or Die R.O.D. is great. I was told that there are only three episodes of the Anime. It was used to spark of the Manga. I am not sure if this info is right though. I do not know enough about HERO to give any advice on what sort of Powers should be involved, but I see Paper as a metaphor of sorts. Stories about People, Places or Things...creation, destruction and so on. I suspect that some sort of Memory based incantation/ritual is used as a result. Example: when she made the paper airplane, that she and her merc friend could actually ride on.
  5. What sort of Power(s) would enable a Symbiotic Relationship between two lifeforms? This sort of union would allow the lifeforms to share Characteristics, Skills, Powers etc as well as share Disads and so on. Obviously, SR would be 'voluntary'.
  6. Re: Time Travel To wit, 1. 'How much' isn't as important as 'what kind'. 2. Tech Level should be that of a 'supercivilization'. 3. One 'freezes' in that instant. 'Stuck' in Time. Grandfather dies prematurely, but family continues on without you. 'You' disappear. 4. Yes... 5. Yes 6. Static 7. There is no end...atleast not that anyone has found. 8. See number 7. 9. Anyway. 10. I try not to get myself confused by such ways.

  9. Re: Hero System is Just Alright With Me I was a D&D player, exclusively for a long time and then I switched to D20 Modern. What Modern taught me was that customization, flexibility and versatility was not only something that I was lacking-but missing altogether. I wanted to do things, but couldn't-within the D20 ruleset. Dont' get me wrong, D&D is a damn fine game. Though, once I bought, opened and read HERO 5E...I found everything that I really ever wanted to do and more. D20 Modern is good, but it suffers from being tainted by the D&Disms that were starting to frustrate me. HERO allows for more compromise and 'compromise' can keep any group ticking for a long time.
  10. Re: Time Travel Theory of Time: Time and Space are inseparable, though finite. This means that many different dimensions, of various sizes exist; even within a Universe. There are an unknown number of Universes, but their existence is linear: they have a starting point...and an ending point. Time Travel can be accomplished by a Supercivilization or a Superpowered Individual...
  11. IMHO, Time Travel really is its own Genre. One in which that is difficult to do and thus, rarely done. It is at the core of my RPGing. I have searched high and low for game mechanics that enable Time Travel to be done right and successfully. 'Successfully' equating to 'Fun'. My search stopped with HERO 5E. Concering RPGing, Time Travel should be more of a plot device than a game mechanic. Though, like I imply above; a game mechanic that works-helps a lot. That said, using your best experience/judgement; what tips can you offer me in using HERO 5E in this regard? Being new-at HERO 5E, my own experience/judgement tells me to ask the experts or those that aspire to be! Thanks.
