  1. Re: Most Embarassing Champions Moment

My flying speedster has this AoE 1 hex Hand Attack that she uses in conjunction with her Passing Strike. (Yeah, I know. I hadn't realized how cheesy this was until after everyone gave me grief for it)

Regardless, there we were in the middle of a fight and one of my teammates was engaged in HtH with a villain. In fact, he'd just finshed performing a Grab maneuver and so had the baddie in place.

So what do I do? I fly by this guy and give him a whack with my Aoe Passing Stike. I hadn't realized then that my teammate was also considered to be in that same hex.

    I knocked them both out.

    Oops.

I've since removed the AoE aspect of the power. Too cheesy.

  2. Re: Best HERO Products for Military SF Campaigns

You might want to check out this Robot Warriors to 5th Edition Site.

Robot Warriors was an old book for pre-4th Edition Hero System. It dealt with Giant Robots (Battletech, Robotech, etc. type of stuff). The author of the sight has done a lot of good work converting the Mecha rules to Hero 5th Edition.

The site is written with those who own a copy of Robot Warriors in mind but I think you still might find something useful.

You can also purchase the 4th-Ed Robot Warriors in PDF format from the Online Store... plug plug plug

  3. I've just uploaded an errata sheet for 5th Ediiton, Revised as well as replaced the old rules FAQ with the new and improved and shorter Revised Rules FAQ. The new FAQ is smaller because a lot of the questions from the old FAQ were incoporated into the Revised Edition. The old FAQ is still available.

You can access all of this by clicking the FAQs button at the top of the page and following the links to the Rules FAQ and the errata.

    Enjoy!

  4. Re: Something Star Hero needs, but hasn't.

As to why there is no such system in Alien Wars and Terran Empire in specific' date=' you will have to ask the powers that be for the real answer, but I would suspect it would be along the lines of [i']"it would not have been an optimum allocation of our limited supplement writing time"[/i].

I had originally started on a section breaking down the systems of starships while working on Spacer's Toolkit, but it became apparent early on that it would not be included in the final book. I'll see if I can dig up what I wrote.

  6. Re: GM's "rights"

Well, if that's all it takes to be the same person, then one half of this conversation is being held by bblackmoor, and the other by Jack Butler.

    And, well... you, I guess.

I'm not in this conversation. I'm just trying to bring facts to the table.

    So... which half are you?

  7. Re: Terran Empire: Imperial Troops and Armor

    4) Are the troops in qustion garrison troops' date=' or mobile troops? If moving your troops between star systems is ludicrously expensive per kg moved, then keeping mass down on mobile troop formations is worth spending some money on. A company of power armor troops might cost 5 times as much as the equivalent combat power in regular troops, but if they ship for 1/5th as much, are expected to be shipped often, and shipping is sufficiently expensive...[/quote']

For the most part, the Imperial troops I'm talking about are stationed on bases, capital ships and garrisons throughout Imperial space. Specifically, I'm looking for what kind of Imperial troops would be stationed at a planet along the Spinward Corridor in order to provide an Imperial presence. The way I see it, planetary law enforcement handles everything that the Empire doesn't want to bother with... but when things get messy the Imperial troops come in and take care of it...

  8. Re: Terran Empire: Imperial Troops and Armor

In my TDSF article I have the agents wear battle armor when they know they're going into battle, or a highly dangerous situation; otherwise they wear conventional uniforms.

Probably the use of battle armor would increase over time, and depend on how frequent fighting is at the time. By the time of Sigusmund, medium battle armor might be the rule rather than the exception....

Okay, that makes sense. Do you give them the Uniform PLUS the Battle Armor for stacked defenses?

Another question... who do you use as your "Storm Troopers"? I'm thinking either Army Infantry or Enlisted Marines and leaning more towards the Marines since the write-ups say that, bu default, they wear Battle Armor, although their roles are more specific.

  9. i'm putting together some generic writeups together of different types of Imperial troops from Terran Empire. Right now I'm working on the Imperial Army Infantry equipment and am curios what type of armor to give them. Do they just wear the Uniform, or woulds they be found wearing Battle Armor?

I would tend to think just the Uniform for a standard soldier and maybe just throw the battle armor on them during heavy attacks? I'm not sure.

Do people use the Battle Armor in your campaigns? If so, who wears it?
