I'll second "Captain Atom".

So far. Perhaps one of these days a species will learn how to prey on humans really well.
We have such a species already. Humans themselves.

It is all very well to say that you "Didn't vote against planned parenthood", but I don't think that Trump and the Republicans ever made any secret that that was one of the programmes that they wanted to get rid of should they be elected. To quote "Super Chicken" "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it", so complaining about what is likely to happen NOW is "closing the barn door after the horse has bolted".

The full lists in each class should be fascinating. Looking forward to the tournament.
-
I highly recommend Jill Lepore's biography of Marston, "The Secret Origin Of Wonder Woman." An extremely interesting dude, who Lapore presents warts & all.
For information on "Wonder Woman" Philip Sandifer's "A Golden Thread" is pretty good too.
-
I saw "Passengers" the other day. Enjoyed it; particularly liked the look of the spaceship.

I haven't been reading pulp, but I have been looking at pulp covers....
https://pulpcovers.com/tag/humansacrifice/page/6/
And just had to share this gem of description:
"Yes, the evil cult leader is spray painting the chained girl gold. No, I don't know why."
Lucius Alexander
The palindromedary might hazard a guess
Maybe he is an ancestor of Auric Goldfinger ?

Another "Street level"nomination "Judo Master" (the Charlton character),
-
Oh and i'll second "The Tick" and "Big Barda", also "Stargirl" (Courtney Witmore).
-
Are you talking about the 1941 Canadian heroine, or the more modern Canadian demigoddess who's Snowbird's mother?
The former would be Open Class; the latter would be Unlimited Class.
I was actually referring to the 1941 Canadian heroine.
-
Second Billy Batson ("Captain Marvel" aka "The Big Red Cheese")
-
Street level "Skateman", Not sure which class but "Nelvana Of The Northern Lights" is worth a try and "Nature Boy" for 21 and under. ("Nelvana" might be "Unlimited Class").
-
Working my way through 'When the Death Bat Flies' by Norvell Page. Best known for authoring the Spider pulp stories, Page turned out a lot of mystery stories as well. This is a collection of Page's detective stories from DETECTIVE TALES, THE SPIDER, DETECTIVE FICTION WEEKLY and STRANGE DETECTIVE MYSTERIES.
Page, like a lot of his contemporaries, (e g Howard, Brackett) worked in a lot of genres, including fantasy in Page's case.

"Astro City" seems under representeted so I will second "Winged Victory", "Cleopatra" and "Crackerjack".
-
Unlimited class "Nightveil" (from "Femforce"). Street level (either nominate or second if he has been already nominated) "Wildcat" (Ted Grant). Under 21 "Merry : Girl Of A Thousand Gimmicks".
-
Would "Firestorm" be Unlimited class or Open ? Whichever, I nominate him.
-
Nominations. Open Class "Megaton Man",, Under 21 "Bouncing Boy", street level "Miss Fury"
-
Heck i'll second "Jade" as well. Is there a limit to the number of characters that you can second ?
-
I would also like to second "Dr Mid-Nite" and "Vash The Stampede" (Gee i'd almost forgotten him!).
-
I would like to second "White Witch", "Darkwing Duck" and "Martian Manhunter".
-
In the "Street Level" category I would like to nominate "Peacemaker" (Mitchell Black) . For "Under 21" I will nominate (or second if she has already been nominated" "Mary Marvel". For cosmic level (although she may not be powerful enough) "Amethyst : Princess of Gemworld".
-
I'll second Jean Grey ("Phoenix")
-
Oops I forgot the "21 and under" category. I nominate "Tomboy". (I believe that someone wanted obscure characters )
-
Just a suggestion "Pariah". What about doing the same thing for villains once the heroes are done ?

I'll also second "Death" (of The Endless) if no-one else has already done so.
