One obvious question that needs to be asked about Garropolo is , if he starts for the '49ers, will he survive the rest of the season ?. At the moment they don't have an offensive line, they have a set of revolving doors !  I'm a niners fan  but geez their offensive line is looking dire this year, and injuries haven't helped. Good luck to Jimmy G but, if he plays this year , he'll earn whatever they are paying him.

I suspect that the Republicans are going to face a bloodbath at the midterm elections. However the Republicans have been pulling things off partially because the Democrats seem to have lost something. Contact with the people maybe? Their leadership seems to be just as much Millionaires and up as the Republicans from outside glances, so maybe that's part of it... I don't know, but their assumption that they're going to win and saying "how could you even think of voting for him instead of me? Has not been working."

Now i'm not an American but I think that you may be being optimistic suggesting a Republican bloodbath.  With so many states having Republican governors i'm sure they will find a way to ensure that many Democrat supporters don't get to vote or don't have their vote counted or something. Then there is the question of what effect Steve Bannon will have on things,could the U S congress become MORE right wing because of his efforts ?  Then you have Fox media; is it still as pro Republican as it was ? If so, what chance have the Democrats got ?

It feels even worse to me to see General Kelly defending Trump's crass remarks to the mother of that fallen soldier.

Being already dead not needing to breath would be a useful ability for a mummy character. Perhaps some immunity to poison as well ?

Holm is 5'8" to Gadot's 5'10", so Gadot's showing a similar level of muscle mass.

 

Given that WW is a fighter and not a body builder and that her powers aren't dependent on muscle mass, I'd say Gadot's doing OK. It's simply not easy for women to put on mass. Gadot looks athletic enough to be a female fighter, and that's about all we can expect, unless we want some stunt casting of a strength athlete who has abnormal muscle mass but can't act.

So they got another shorty to play "Wonder Woman" ? 5ft 10" is six inches shorter than Wonder Woman is supposed to be (according to "the D C Comics Encyclopedia").

Oh and getting back to the D C universe I thionk that "Wonder Woman" has restored some of my faith in the ability of Warner Brothers to make super hero films that appeal to a wide audience.

 At the risk of upsetting the Diana Rigg/Emma Peel fans here I have to say that I always preferred Honor Blackman's Cathy Gale when it came to  ":Avengers "girls.  (I like Emma and Purdey too, but Cathy was THE original kick ass, leather clad avenger)

So, just as the Senate's getting ready to strip health coverage from millions of Americans, Trump tweets out that he's banning trans people from the military. Doesn't that just scream distraction, or is it just me? Don't get me wrong -- it's sad for the people the ban will actually affect, and it's yet another indication that Trump's presidency is an abomination, but come on! Headlines are screaming about something that affects the career choices available to a tiny number of people, while the issue that's life-or-death for millions is relegated to below-the-fold status. Exactly as Trump's team intended, I'm sure.

That seems to be exactly how Trump operates. Come up with a plan that he (and his cronies) KNOW is going to hurt a lot of people (such as health care) then, while it is being debated, say something outrageous to distract the media and critics while you get it enacted.

How many floors on the Empire State Building ? I was going by the description in ""Doc Savage " His Apocalyptic Life" which  states  (p 69) that it is 86 stories tall. True any new building would therefore be on his roof, but i think he'd still object !

 Just finished "Please Don't Tell My Parents I'm A Supervillain" by Richard Roberts. Lots of fun about a group of adolescent (middle school I think) kids with super powers who become, sort of by accident, super villains. Some interesting ideas and fun characters and , while I may not read the next book in the series for a while, I quite enjoyed this one.
