  1. Here's a concept I'm working on. Her name is Beacon. I don't want to go more into than that, since I'm still working my way through the actual stats for the character and I tend to change my mind a lot.
  2. Dynamo, assume that you have permission for any private commission or doodle I put up. I'll state if something is NOT for grabs... like if I do a Hero (or another company) specific drawing and want to post it in my thread (Firewing comes to mind, which I posted in this thread awhile back). And thanks again. I pointed some folks at RPGnet and the Green Ronin boards in the direction of the Free Minis. Thanks to the Hero folks for putting the suff up... I hope some the free advertising helps! I have another character doodle sketched, needs to be inked and colored. But it will have to wait a few days. I'm working very hard on the Fantasy Hero cover.
  3. Re: Re: Re: Construction Crew I'm kinda partial to the double entendre of DuChamp! duplication. only nudes. only on staircases. but speed 12!

    >. Bianca White.<<< White White?
  5. Re: Construction Crew To be honest, that sounds more like the "Deconstructionists". I would think if you were truly the Construction Crew, you would have code names like Joist, Drywall, Nailer, Tyler, Plumber, and maybe Repairer. Now that sounds like a team to put up a house, instead of taking one down. {uh... too early in the morning to be posting coherently}
  6. Mozart? Home of Gustav Klimt? Stealing one of his paintings? The Kiss might be in the Louvre... not sure. Vienna Boy's Choir... duplication villain with a penchance for singing replaces them all? I dunno.... As for villains... Austria has a lot former East block influences. but I would get on Google and do 20 minutes of browsing... I'm sure something will come to you.
  7. Dynamo, those are fun!!!! Sure, if Ben wants to put them up, fine by me.
  8. Re: Tent Minis You have my permission. do me a favor, put the link to them on both Green Ronin and Here. I can't play favorites. As for Fortune, sure, throw him into the PDF too. Look forward to seeing them! >>Wow Storn, These pics areway cool. I hope to see a few more of these in upcoming champs produces (hope, hope, hope.) <<< I wouldn't hold my breath. Most of these pics are for my own gaming group. They have nothing to do with Champions or Hero Games or even Mutants and Mastermind's settings. But if a character comes up that it would be appropriate to use one of these pics, I will certainly do so. But the odds of that are probably slim.
  9. Re: Storn, what does UNITE mean to you? I did not come up with UNITE, RDU Neil did, although I was running it at the time. And to be honest, it has been in use so long, I'm not sure of the acronym anymore, but something close to what you have.
  10. Here is the ill-fated Condor. Killed immediately in his first outing by Cyberblade in a vicious firefight in the jungle. If you are interested, another update of UNTIL Black OPs Team is up on my Green Ronin thread of the same name as this one.
  11. I have a lot of experience running International adventures, specifically with a UNTIL team... in fact, tommorrow night, I'm running UNTIL Black Ops Team. In our game, the superteam is called UNITE. Each united nations country *may* have one paranormal on the team. US doesn't have anyone at the moment due to strained relations with the EU, the UN and most of the paranormls on the planet. UNITE at the moment has 19 members, with 2 more coming in shortly, most likely as PCs. I will probably be moving from Black Ops to UNITE in the near future as soon as the Black Ops arc is done. I apologize if you have seen this thread (as I'm sure many on this board have already spotted), but interwoven in my Black Ops thread is advice on running games like this. It is a very long thread, but it does have pictures~! http://www.greenronin.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1570 IBut here is some quick advice: I recommend becoming well aquainted with Google. I do a search for pictures of a city that I might be setting an adventure in (Milan was one recently). I get a map of the city. Usually, clicking on a picture or two will lead me to a site that has some general info... I don't sweat it to much to get tons of details, I tend to paint in broad strokes. Having a map will generate lots of ideas for myself... fight scene areas, hotels, museums, landmarks etc. I usually only spend about 15 minutes researching... it isn't a huge amount of time. Right now, I'm running an adventure on the Congo/Rwandan border near the Zaire river. A couple of photos of jungle foliage to get the players in the mood. I proposed this adventure to my co-GM on a possible UNITE adventure; picture a rebuilding effort on a Chinese dam (in RDU, China has just gone thru WWIII). Except the engineers and civilians assigned keep turning up dead under mysterious and probably paranormal circumstances. Send in UNITE. So there is the type of mission that I come up with. I model UNITE on a Legion of Super Heroes model. Many members, but usually only 4 or 5 actually go out to investigate a sitiuation. Hopefully, the ones with the best skill/power set for the circumstances. Hope that helps.
  12. About 2-3 hours, pencils to inks to scanned to colored. Some can take a bit longer, the folds in the clothing of the "lion" like one I just posted took some thought in the pencil and ink stage. He might ahve been 3 or 4 hours, I odn't really keep track. I think I'm fairly quick. But single figures, I've been doing a long time, I'm comfortable doing them. Backgroounds, storytelling, objects, multiple figures interacting, perspective all make for a lot more complexity... a full collored full page "scene" could take 1 to 2 days, Ninja Hero cover took me a week. Somedays are faster than others too...somedays it flows off the pencil.
  13. Just what has been published. Wild Heart is a character that doesn't get a lot of air time for the last few years. We have moved on to other campaigns.
  14. Here is a private commission for RW Temple. His idea, my doodle. Sure could have used this guy last time I ran, just need to change to dirty khakis, and carrying an "AK-47. Anyhow, without further ado
  15. That was Wild Heart. She doesn't fly, unless it was courtesy of my character Vector (not Veer, Veer's the clone) teke abilities. Wild Heart is RDU Neil's character and the leader of NYC's indomitable Mavericks. They were a couple for a short period way back in time... something that Veer has flashes of . As Vector's DNA was sampled from those NYC adventures about 7 years ago, game time.
  16. Heh. Hardly. Besides, would you want to read the minds of a bunch of gamers? I know that I don't want to... anyway, in a few hours from this posting, the further chronicles of UNTIL Black Ops will be posted in the green ronin thread of mine. So those who are interested can check it out. Enclosed is "Veer". A clone of my main character Vector. Vector is a full blown teke, Veer can only shape force fields. Veer was activated just a few years ago when a huge lab of Malachite's smashed into a Congo (actually Rwanda, but the border is in dispute) mountain side. Veer is a leader of a bunch of Malachite genetic experiments, trying to hide in the thick terrain of that area. The Black Ops Team met Veer last night. It was interesting playing a character based upon one of my characters, but I knew he was different...
  17. Well, color me stupid. I'm wrong. It has happened before... it will happen again.
  18. Its not the money. Its the availability. A .50 cal rifle can be bought thru regular channels...ads for it are in any rifle magazine. The vest is military only. The only way you can get it is to be in the military or get it through black market aquisition. At this point in time. There are not civilian vests on the market that can equal what the armed services are wearing. What I'm suggesting for a D.I. like game, a Interceptor vest is a BIG deal, having one. It shouldn't be an easy procurement.

    UNTIL

Re: Re: UNTIL I am running an UNTIL Black Ops campaign right now. It is set in a long running (almost 20 year) campaign and is one of many "mini" campaigns. I'm a co-gm. I'm using Mutants and Masterminds, but each week we switch between myself and RDU NEIL. Neil uses CHampions. UNTIL has long been a favorite place for me to tell stories. I love running games that are international in scope. So far, I've sent the PCs to Austria, Milan and Greenland.. this week; they head to the Congo. If you want some pics of superspies, villains, a few heroes and superheroes, and some rundown on the adventures so far, it is a huge thread, but you might glean something out of it.... Please check this thread out: http://www.greenronin.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1570
  20. Mignola, using Microns for his graphic blocking out makes sense. Cho, however, also uses quills. It is even mentioned he is breaking in "new ones" in a strip of Liberty Meadows. Listen, folks, do not get wrapped up in the ease of Microns. They are a trap. Trust me. Both Mignola and Cho can ink with a brush and/or quill and have "returned" to tech pens. Now, especially Cho is "simulating" what a brush stroke looks like in his cartooning. He has great thick/thin lines. But if you don't work with a brush first, you'll never understand what makes inking work well. One more thing about the brush... once mastered... it is faster than a Micron. I can lay down 5 strokes, all different sizes, all with thick and thin in the time it will take a Micron to fill in one stroke. Eric, as far as education goes, sure... my mother is a self-taught artist... she teaches art and we have discussions that match my former professors's acumen. However, I learned the same things she did about 3x as fast. And she admits it. Much of a good art school is making the artist make choices and decisions and teaching good shortcuts and techniques (I never understood guoache, til I saw a 15 minute demonstration on how to mix it to the right consistency...then it was easy). Much of school is forcing the artist to tackle things that he/she doesn't want to... for me, it was cloth folds. But I would have never picked up Oil paint on my own. I never oil painted til I went to art school. Changed my life. And if you really want to talk about how to improve your inking... paintiing and sculpting and learning how to follow form will do WONDERS for your inking. Art School offers that cross polinization of technique and ideas. Yes, art school is expensive, CCAD cost me plenty of money. But it was worth every single penny. Freelancing throughout art school certainly helped... but the stuff I was learning in the classroom, I turned around immediately that week, and applied to actual professional work. Then handed in the published work as homework. Let me also state that I got a ton out off CCAD because, in my mind, I started back at 26. Being an older student really helped. When I was 17 and at New York University, I was clueless. And that education did not help me as much...besides paving away a lot of prereqs for CCAD.
  21. I do not. but upon reading this thread title I immediately thought of some of the first comics I ever read.... and if Tintin's Snowy isn't a DNPC (as well as a follower prhaps), I'll eat Dr. Silverback. (just kidding Darren)
  22. I do stuff by hand all the time. Almost every day. It is really only for Hero that I work half of it in digital and for my own yuks on my character sketches. But fantasy hero cover is all by hand. Most of my other fantasy clients is grayscale by hand. All my card art for AEG is painting by hand.
