Old Man got a reaction from Pariah in The Academics Thread
Also proofread them before handing them out to the students. The most notable example I lived through was the electromagnetism class where the professor would work out the answers while we took the exam. On one exam, fifteen minutes in, he goes, "Is anyone else having trouble with question three?" To which the entire class* responded with a resounding and irritated "YES!!"
* I think there were eight of us. Might have been ten.

Last time I read that article it said that there weren't 40 women, children, and elderly for the initial exchange, but that there were still ~100 hostages left that haven't been bombed, shot, or starved to death by the Israelis.

Iran has actually displayed remarkable restraint during this whole affair in Gaza. It's clear that the Iranian government does not want a wider conflict, just as it's clear Bibi wants to provoke one. That's why I don't think escalation is inevitable. This time Israel launched the attack, so Iran for political and military reasons must respond; but they're trying to keep any response proportional to the provocation.
Hamas is a big part of the problem here. They do want escalation, to radicalize more Palestinians. Unfortunately Iran does not have enough influence over Hamas' leadership to outright stop them, but I don't doubt they're putting as much pressure on Hamas to modify their actions, as the United States is putting on Israel.

My wife said that I can be an idiot sometimes. It's nice to have permission.

The next total solar eclipse visible in the US's lower 48 will be August, 2045, on a track that is remarkably like that of the August 2017 eclipse but shifted south by about 500 km. I think totality will stomp right over Pariah's present lodgings.

The Daily reviews Donald Trump's success in getting his trials delayed until after the election. At this point, it looks like onlhy the hush money case -- which legal experts deem the weakest -- has a trial date.
The Staggering Success of Trump’s Trial Delay Tactics - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
As noted, his lawyers have figured out how to game all the defenses developed to prevent rogue prosecutors and judges from railroading the innocent. The host and guest shrug and say, Well, we're stuck. I say, this shows why our legal system *does* need the capacity to railroad defendants -- not easily, Glod forbid, but when it really, really matters -- the state needs to be able to put a case before a judge who knows and accepts that his job is to deliver a swift and guilty verdict. Yes, a political show trial.
I could go on, discussing conditions of extremis, but I think that's enough unpleasantness for one post. And the argument does lead into some nasty territory. For now, I'll just repeat the suggestion that the Constitution is not a suicide pact.
