So I was building a Mk I Justice Department Lawgiver and when I came to design the 'HotShot' (heat seeker) round I drew a blank. At first an Uncontrolled Continuous Attack seemed to be the way to go but that works in exactly the  opposite way to what I'm after. In other words, once you hit it carries on dealing damage for whatever duration you've set. But it has to *hit*.
By contrast, a heat seeker/homing missile can miss, but will keep re-trying (for whatever period you've set) until it hits. Then it's spent.

Saw some discussion on this thread with the beginnings of a 'homing' advantage,  but that's a while back now.

Am I missing something somewhere or is a house rule advantage still the fix?

Quite some time ago I shared a number of the original maps from the Turakian Age book. Due to RL and other issues I was unable to continue working on them.

I am now back to the Turakian Age and have, today, uploaded a colour version of the world map of Ambrethel. I myself have printed this on a decent home printer as a A3 poster and it looks good. It is 1600x1200.

I am not the creator of these, but the creator was kind enough to pass on to me the various images/files he had a number of years back so I could use/share them on the HERO forums.  I hope to have more converted in time.

I love the setting and was curious if there's anyone else on these boards who do too?

Steve did and amazing job with the book and I think it deserves more supplements.  Although the base book is very detailed in terms of races, geography, theology, etc, I think there's tons of room to expand on.  The setting has such good bones that it feels criminal to not expand on it.

Also, an update to 6th edition would be fantastic although strictly not necessary.

At lower levels (we are now 4th) they have seemed incredibly tough - to the point where the fighting types (including two paladins and two fighters) seem to pale by comparison. This particular player has played more 5E than us and says that "later on, after about 6th, I am outclassed by fighters of a similar level". This just seems like shoddy design to us. To design a broken killing machine early doors only to have it fade out if and when the party survive to mid levels?

We would undoubtedly be dead on more than one occasion if it were not for the Bear/Spider WildShapes. and not from any strategic play, just from damage dealing and soaking.

lou_tennant reacted to Simon in Issues Executing .jar Files Under Windows
It seems that there are some rather nasty updates to either Windows itself or Java running under Windows that is removing the file association for .jar files for a number of users.  It is not clear at this time why this is happening, but it is preventing people from running HD by double-clicking on the HD6.jar file (or any shortcut they've created).

I'll use this thread for troubleshooting this issue with folks -- the fix information in this post will be edited as needed to help out.

The following is the most direct way to check and/or set the file association for .jar files under Windows:

1.  Open a command prompt (Start -> Run... -> cmd)

2.  To check the file association for jar files, enter the following (please post the output of this command in this thread if you are still having problems):
ftype | find "jarfile" 3.  To reset the file association for jar files, you would enter the following, replacing the path to javaw.exe with the absolute path to the file on your system :
ftype jarfile="C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %*
