  1. Re: An Old Quiz, But A Nice One. Scary how accurate this is. But... um, I don't think this adds up to 100%. OMG my wife was right! I'M 383% GAMER!! Rep to you for finding this one! You scored as Tactician. You're probably a military buff who wants to have the chance to think through complex problems. You want the rules, and your GM's interpretation of them, to match up what happens in the real world or at least be consistant. You want challenging yet logical obstacles to overcome. Tactician 75% Storyteller 67% Power Gamer 58% Specialist 58% Method Actor 58% Butt-Kicker 50% Casual Gamer 17%
  2. Re: My CU based webcomic Thanks for sharing. Rep to you sir. -J
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... GM: Everyone is staring at you. What do you do? J: Abort action wet myself? G: I think thats a zero phase action...
  4. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Well... that didn't go quite the way we thought it would. --- Some days you're the dog, some days you're the hydrant. --- No way, Lois Lane wouldn't survive a moment of passion...
  5. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... RE: Outing a gamer in the office... How did you know I played? You're two fisting Mountain Dew.
  6. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Yea, I actaually had just that in L5R. It didn't end well. Funny thing is, once I got my *** handed to me trying to figure out how to do the 'right' thing, all my buddies came in and, uh, put a permanent end to the problem for me. The comment was made, "To bad we couldn't have done that to your psycho ex for ya." That's what friends are for. -J
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Yeah? Ka-BAMM!! Who's funny NOW!?!
  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Heh... yeah, well thats why I draw pretty pictures for a living. Edited.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... If you have young girls around (not like that, you sick-os!) you know that every young girl want to be a princess. Thank you Disney. So this is from my beautiful and innocent niece... "I want to be a Princess Chef!" "Umm, ok so you want to be a cook for a princess?" "Oh no, I want to cook princesses... for Dragons!" Oh yea, subvert that dominant paradigm girl!
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... -It's too dark for bats!
  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... A buddy reminded me of an old quote from bygone years… GM: As you try to sneak past the guard in what is essentially a Mac Truck, it suddenly strikes him that (makes a perception roll of 18 for the guard) …he really likes vanilla. Sheesh… feel free to do whatever you like to him, he deserves it. From then on, whenever anyone completely blows his perception roll they were considered to be deeply contemplating the joys of vanilla.
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Wow. I haven't seen that line for about twenty years! Nice!
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... GM: You’ve got your back to the wall in the darkness, but you know the creature is nearby. Make a perception roll and tell me what you do. Ghost: Ok, it looks like I… (rolls a seventeen) …get shredded. Funny how PCs can predict the future sometimes.
  14. Re: City Maps: the Dark Side of the City indeed. I could just go grab a city map of Denver, but I’d like to get my hands on maps of rundown industrial areas. I have no idea how they are actually laid out as opposed to downtown Denver. I can do all the seedy descriptors myself, but the building layout is something foreign for this mountain boy. Links would definitely be appreciated. -J Wow, I remember Keith “something funny” Curtis from way back when I first hit the boards and could barely even count to D6. Nice to see some of the good ol’ boys are still here.
  15. Re: Subway Cars Awsome. This is something I can use! Thanks!
  16. So I’d like to run a scenario in the burned out and abandoned parts of Detroit. The idea is a feral hunter/serial killer that’s been taking out bums, teenagers and now cops within a specific area of abandoned warehouses. Now the hero’s have to go in and put a stop to this thing on its own turf. I’d like to set up a Gotham type feel with the heroes scouring the seedy underside of the city. Here’s the problem… I’m from Denver, CO. Butterflies and pretty mountains. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a suitable map to represent this rundown, beat up nightmare piece of the city? Anyone have something like this? Or even a map of the wastes of Detroit. I’d prefer digital format that I can get my hands on pretty quickly. If anyone can help me I’ll be your friend for a WHOLE DAY!

  18. Re: Ay Yi Yi! GM advice needed! Kudos sir. It's hard to pull fifteen conspiracies together. Well done. That's a game I'd like to play in. -J
  19. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... After literally demolishing an entire building during a hostage situation that somehow involved an out of control chaos mage and a rampaging oni, Poet emerges from what is left of the campus anthropology building. Poet: It's alright! I'm alright! You can move along now. Um... classes will resume as scheduled...
  20. I need help building Mr. I Can Do Anything You Can But Better Man!TM Ok, I have a player (who is an unashamed power gamer) who wants to create an uber intelligent character that is so smart that he can learn anything just by observing it once. Kinda like Mat Damon in Good Will Hunting, but over the top. The dude was locked in an institution all of his life, but so he actually doesn’t really know much about the real world. But he only needs a few minutes to bumble around with something before he’s an expert. Story wise he has undergone shock therapy in the institution and he’s dependent on all sorts of medication to keep his alter ego in check. Oh, and he has MA and an EGO attack (that one I can actually handle on my own.) Problem #1: How do you build something like that? He has eidetic memory, lightning calculator and find weakness as a start. Problem #2: How do you keep this guy in check? After a few game sessions, he would have everyone’s fighting style memorized and every skill in the book. I thought about him having memory problems so that he doesn’t just pick up skills and abilities left and right, but that defeats the whole eidetic memory thing. Any thoughts? -J Mental Monkey
  21. Re: Military HERO Oh yeah, that is exactly the kind of thing I'm lookin' for right now. I would be really cool if they included rules for large scale combat. To test the characters ability to play general of a large number of troops. Or even as a Lutenant swinging the outcome of a major battle. There are so many good stories of that kind of thing from D-Day. -J Military Monkey
