Ok, I;ve been watching the brit comedy 'MY HERO' on my local PBS station....I have to ask, has anyone else seen it?...... has anyone tried to write up Goerge Sunday/thermo-man? or Oli? This show screams champions.....right down to the disads.

Re: Campaign Speculation: please read, comment ...remember mt St.helens? when it blew, crud was spewed out that IS still up there and that was back in the early 80's....a designed/engineered refractive micro/nano-crystals in the high atmoshpere (thermosphere?) could effectively disable laser-based coms and dedect their use....be undetectable from normal ice cryatals and would only need to be replenished when their density dropped below 'X"-ppM (parts per Meter). basically, 'seeding' the atmoshphere......

Re: Help with map drawing techniques one of the things i've done for city maps is use a AAA road atlas, mostly shaded yellow for city outline, thick red line for highways, narrow black for streets---you've seen them? simply change the 'red highway' lines to out defense walls (most city have a beltway...) a few name changes...dah-dah!! quicky map. works in a pinch....

Re: just a note for the arduin fans I met Daivid Hargrave (the Author) once, he had a game shop in the bay area called 'the Phraint' (one of the insect races of arduin).....if I remember right, the guy was an ex-vietnam vet and didn't he have a heart attack back in the late 70's?...

sure....as GM you have final say as to whats possible. so lets think this trough..persiads exist and several heroes are from there (ok, at least one is...) several species have tried to invade over the years (xenophores, hzeel,etc...), all of whome are from Terran Empire, who else is from TE?...the malvans, advanced tech that current generations cant fix..a gate could be from them, or the species that left the galaxy...no explanation..just gone..the mandaarians maybe?...or the gate are even older. from a unknown ancients? as to where it is...up to you, like the seires, it could be under government control, if found by an oil company? or researchers? extremists? what if it where in the hands of a 'rogue nation', if discovered on their territory, it could be 'nationalized' (seized by he power that be....) as for write ups, defs, etc....don't bother, use it as a plot device it would be to valuable to destroy, and as in the series, it would take ALOT to destroy one....the superconductive metal its made of channels energy to fast....

what tech level is the rampart? 14?...d'oh!...isn't this the traveller board?..... LOL... there was a pretty good write up (in hero) for the classic Sulien scout on a wep page I found...let see if I can find it and I'll post the link...

ah, yes...a bit redundant I think i'll be taking a fifth of blackadder....(80 proof wasn't it?) I watched one episode...the sailors on the cruiser going at it with oficer swords after being to "into" a CRPG....eh, i think threat matrix is better, especially to steal ideas from....

that the one using the old riveted Lee tank, with the main gun mounted on the (rt?) side...early war years, '42(ish).... a nazi shell hits the well, breaks the clay bottom open and water refills it.... cool film...

what about that movie 'the great escape' with pc's being the prisoners? seem like it could be a good campaign....challenging situation, using skill, etc....all in a central, controlled location (the is effectively a base isn't it?)

Try this for a campaign.... place: europe, WWII, somewhere in france... a PC's discovers (rumor from prisoner at least..) that there is a cache of nazi gold hidden in a small small village deep behind enemy lines... the PC wants the gold...but it has to remain a secret.... he recruits a few 'other' pc's for a share....a supply sergeant, a tank commander, etc.... if all this sounds familiar, it should..... its a movie that starred clint eastwood.... KELLY'S HEROES !!!! put a group of pc's inplace of the main characters and let the fun begin....

Lorna Doone? (ok, its a cookie...but who was it named after?) Manfred Von Richtoven? (red baron survived being shot and ditching his plane...) Eddie Richenbacker? (american ace...the barons rival) Lodge? ( can't remember first name...also discovered magnetic waves, hertz published first...hurtz as rival)
