The Republicans like to be in the minority/spoiler position - paralyzing legislation while not taking blame (cf the entire Obama administration). If Trump loses the election, it'll put them back in their sweet spot and allow them to mend some of the fences Trump kicked over, while continuing to block any/all legislation to change anything the Dems propose. Then they'll be in a strong position in 2024 running against Harris.

They are always playing to their base, so that part of your statement is redundant :). There are quite a few things the administration has no clue about, and insensitivity towards minorities and minority issues is very solidly in their wheelhouse, so it follows that a rich New York jew is talking about blacks not wanting to succeed. Don't have any sympathy for the GOP - this path is the one the party has been following my entire life, from Nixon onward. They thrive in the space of inequality, oppression, suppression, etc. Trump just brought their behavior out into the open more obviously to more people at once, is all you're seeing. They would have gotten to where we are now if left to their own devices sooner or later - the changing demographics of the country (and the fear that Trump's campaign manipulated) would have guaranteed us a Trump-like candidate within the next 3 cycles anyway. And playing/preying on the same issues that Trump did, would have gotten that person elected. Each party uses coded language to a greater or lesser degree to get elected, but the Republicans govern to that language more than the Democrats do.

And yet there is an entirely too broad a swath of Americans who will believe this is part of the plot against them/their country/their party because it's too hard to think critically about the narrative they're being presented, and the many holes and questionable sources the information is coming from. It's easier to think a vast Deep State is conspiring in total secrecy (except for the valiant and wily Q, who has somehow avoided all attempts by said Deep State to root out the traitor), to overthrow the duly elected and patriotic government that is fighting for them and their rights, than it is that this story might be false, and that the main person involved may have something personal to gain (just read his quote, again - he wants to protect his family, his rep, etc). Occam is weeping, or rolling over in his grave, or whatever expression of dismay you prefer.

I don't think it will have a measurable impact. As has been noted several times, the fight is over undecideds, and I think there aren't enough of those in any one state to sway the vote of that state. Are you thinking about modeling the SAN stat? Do characters just buy gear/weapons and so on, or would you consider using Resource Points from Dark Champions? I'm thinking about a couple character ideas, I'll send them via email when I get some fleshed out.

Hey; What are your preferred mapping/chat/dice rolling apps? From the character example is it set modern America? Do you have any preferences about types of characters (shooter, reporter/investigator, etc)? If the characters already know each other, backstory, etc? Anything you would want players to stay from in the background or build? Are 5 - 10 pt powers allowable (maybe magic or psi or holy abilities) or only skills? Is there a minimum or maximum number of players you're comfortable with? What haven't I asked that I should?

Let Trump try to cancel/delay the election... Article II, Section 1 covers this. The president and vice president are limited to a four year term in office; the number of terms they can serve is defined elsewhere (22nd). The of start/end of that term is set by Congress, currently the 20th of January. We won't have a president or vice president on January 20th if the election doesn't happen. Following the order of succession, we'd say hello to president Pelosi (or different person, if she isn't re-elected by her state vote). He'd like that result even less than conceding to Biden. Also, polls show the main place his claims are gaining traction are with his base - depressing odds they will turn out/mail in their ballots.

'A big improvement' is a subjective valuation. All the calculations, modifiers, costs of powers/skills/talents etc are taken care of in the background. When the character is built, you can print out a clean sheet (and legible might count, depending on your players writing lol), or just keep it on your screen as you play. Since spells, artifacts and so on are built as powers that will also help you out. You can export the data and use it with the tracker app Hero Combat Manager (it has it's own forum). The app is cheap ($25) for what you get, if those things are useful to you. For me it's very useful, but I've been using it across several different versions of the Hero System for years.

Hi - Powers have the following fields - that can be exported with tag ids (<!--NAME-->, etc). Disads have - What is the name of the tag to use for Display? I don't see an entry in the ExportTags file that seems to be analogous to <!--NAME-->, for Complications. I found a way to export the type name (pysch, social,etc), but not the Display, Situation, etc fields. Also, there are a series of tags for sections, like <!--IFSKILLS-->, <!--IFTALENTS-->, powers, etc. Is there something similar for characteristics? Again, don't see it in the tags doc. Or maybe the ExportTags pdf I'm using is old - the one I have is from 2007. Is there a newer rev of the doc? Thanks!
