  1. Re: [Char] Taeser Maybe instead of the electric only armor just give him Armor 6PD/6ED, Activation Roll 14- (bulletproof costume) this would make him more survivable in combat, although one above average 50 active point attack would still stun him.
  2. Re: [Char] Taeser I'd drop the armor all together or give it an Electricity Only -2 unless electrical attacks are going to be common. 50 points seems a lot for just one attack power. At least with paragon the character got all the benefits of 50 STR. I think it would be more useful to create a multipower and a few slots like: Cost Powers END 40 Multipower, 40-point reserve 4u 1) Taeser: Energy Blast 8d6 (40 Active Points) 3u 2) Mental Short circit: Drain DEX 4d6 (40 Active Points); Increased Endurance Cost (x2 END; -1/2) 2u 3) Electric hands: Hand-To-Hand Attack +6d6 (30 Active Points); Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/2) 2u 4) System Error: Dispel ONe Electric based Technology power at a time 13d6+1 (40 Active Points); Extra Time (Full Phase, -1/2), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4) Total Powers & Skills Cost: 51
  3. Re: [Character] Vibro-Man I agree at one turn... that leads to the kind of names no hero wants. minute man jokes would be bad enough but with an name like Splitsecond my mind boggles at the possible puns/jokes. with apologies to Justice league "fastest man alive!" "hmm maybe thats why your dateless."
  4. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... hfergus if we were in the same group I think we'd be killed. As for your "son of a beech" pun you stunned them senseless!
  5. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. Sadly I was in a fantasy Campaign were for eight secessions we attempted to get through one game day. It was henceforth know as the day of Endless ambushes.
  6. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I'd be totally broke, at minimum I make at lest one pun a session.
  7. Re: What were: the best Marvel titles of the 80's? Didn't read much Marvel during the 80's but I did enjoy the Avengers and the early Cris Claremont X-Men.
  8. Re: What were: the best Marvel titles of the 80's? The New Teen Titians particularly the "Terror of Trigon" arcs and "Judas Contract" you had great character development along with good art and excellent writing.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... So you enjoy being the Pundit of the group?
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I guess the party thought he sunk to a low with that one. I love puns! My fellow players have suffered though years of them.
  11. Re: WWYCD: Once bitten . . . I will thanks for the tip.
  12. Re: WWYCD: Once bitten . . . Darkfire: Would not apply! she is already somewhat living impaired and has a daemon partially bound to her soul. She'll Drain Tak'Mal'Ra dry one day and take great pleasure in snuffing out his essence for ever. she would hunt and and destroy the Vampire who dared to attack her. Ironhide: Also would not apply he is permanently solid neutronium. i.e. he has no blood. Additionally Ironhide has power defense against transforms and double hardened resistant defenses. I can see it now. the Vampire attempts bite him Vamp: *crack* my fangs! Ironhide: umm... what are you doing? Vamp: trying to drink your blood. Ironhide: ok then (punches vamp, repeatedly) JOhn O'Malley II: If a Vampire could even approach him (blessed catholic priest) and if it could turn him O'Malley would track the Vamp down and destroy it. Then after receiving absolution for his sins he would greet the Dawn.
  13. Re: WWYCD: Welcome Divinity? I love that response! what's wrong with these 'gods' trying to tempt all these Catholic Fathers? It just won't end well for them.
  14. Re: WWYCD: Welcome Divinity? Darkfire: She would categorically refuse, for two reasons: 1.)she absolutely refuses to be beholden to any extra planar entity especially ones with delusions of grandeur. 2.) Despite her rather dubious morality, she firmly and absolutely believes their is only one true God. While the power they offered would tempt, to Darkfire it is simple their offer is not be worth the cost of her soul. Ironhide: I'm honestly not sure of what he would do, if he could remain on earth and continue to be a superhero he might take them up on the offer. If he had to leave earth behind he would say no. John O'Malley II: Catholic Priest, member of the Dominican order(the sword of the Church), member of the Holy Inquisition. Would have one response "you pretenders to God's glory! You think to tempt Me! with your empty promises and honeyed lies! Begone spawn of Satan! Before I crush you under my Inquisitorial Boot." Draws consecrated saber and double barreled shotgun! while praying for Jesus Christ to bless him with the Glory of heaven. Charge!
  15. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I guess they cut him off at the knees. I know I know I just failed my save to resist. This is what happens when your working on less than four hours of sleep. you could say I shorted myself. damn I just can't help myself.
  16. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. The GM don't bother reading the adventure he has decided to run until the session actually starts. the GM's most often heard phrase "oh, Wait we need to go back." THe Players try to get the GM drunk to in the hopes it might improve his performance cause it certianly couldn't get any worse.
  17. Re: WWYCD: The Coverup All my characters would agree with Matrix3's statement. Just because a hero used their new Macross Cannon Attack! doesn't mean they are responsible for the detestation. Ironhide: would keep it quite. in his opinion nothing would be served by make the sidekick's theory public. further Ironhide would try to find out why the Sidekick has waited a year before acting on his fears. Ironhide would quietly and privately begin an investigation into the event and the Sidekick, you never know he might be the acting under duress or just not dealing well with survivor guilt. Darkfire: would console the sidekick that he was right to come to her with his fears and together they will find the truth and do whats right. while talking she would thoroughly scan him for any trace of mental or mystical manipulation, then she would scan him again just to be sure. (if mystically foes really are out to get you, if your not paranoid your just don't understand the situation.) after satisfying herself he was clean she would try some surface level telepathy along with using her considerable skills of persuasion to get a read on his emotional status and his intentions. Afterward Darkfire would create rituals to view the past and determine the truth of the matter. If its not true she would tell the Sidekick and encourage him to come to her with any other problems, after all everyone needs a friend and confidant. Darkfire's goal would be to ensure herself a new asset...*cough* I meant ally. If it was true she would encourage the sidekick to keep it quite (with a mental nudge if necessary) as such a revelation would only surve to shatter public trust in superheros and greatly compromise the national healing process. Darkfire would again urge the sidekick come to her with any problems. she would gain an asset/pawn with the added advantage of guilt and/or blackmail to hold of his head if necessary. John O'Malley II: would offer his guidance as a Catholic father, while urging secrecy in the matter. "sometimes we must bear our burdens in silence." he would use his prayers of revelation to try and determine the truth of the matter. he would ask his colleagues to determine of the sidekick was being influenced by outside sources.
  18. Re: MancerBear's Art Den sounds like a interesting story, have you thought of posting them as NPCs with a brief character history? I bet many people would find that useful especially coupled with your drawings.
  19. Re: MancerBear's Art Den very nice! I've always liked pencil drawings. I particularly like the couple embracing. only one more post to go MancerBear!
  20. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... yikes! I bet even if he didn't have enraged as a disad he sure was after that. Talk about a low blow.
  21. Re: MancerBear's Art Den so that's how you get to activate your rep. I was wondering about that as the FAQ didn't mention it or I missed it if it did. Thanks Tim.
  22. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. your players wounder why every henchman is equipped with at least a 4D6 RKA 2xPenatrating attack and enough CSLs to hit even the speedster...when he's Martial dodging. when watching reality TV is more entertaining than the campaign.
  23. Re: Evil Defender... wasn't their a 4th ed. supplement Champions in 3D that had evil versions Defender and what where then the champions? If I recall correctly they were part of an alternate reality where the Golden Avenger and PRIMUS had taken over the US and wrecked the rest of the world.
  24. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. your players grumble that you're adventures have two flavors Railroading or TPK(total party kill). your players ask if you can just E-mail them summaries of what their characters did during the adventure, since havening a choice might mess up your story. every NPC in the campaign seems to have 20 points of power and mental defense...hardened! (as player this actually happened to me, the GM spent twenty minutes explaining why it was "logical" a Viper janitor and secretary would both have such defenses.)
  25. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. The PCs are on a first name bases with the hospital staff and have reserved rooms. Before every combat the PCs call the JLA and ask for superman to come rescue them. Every single PC has bought regeneration with resurrection which they loudly point out they use every session they play. The PCs wonder if they can take a less dangerous hunted like Dr. Destroyer instead of your normal villains.
