  1. Re: WWYCD (kind of): Advice Time for Scarlet! Ironhide: He would talk with her for as long as it took to get Scarlet Archer to understand the consequences of a Public ID. i.e. all family, friends, acquaintances, are now targets. Anywhere you live is now a war zone waiting to happen, expect to be ambushed. Any normal romantic or platonic relationships are now difficult if not impossible, even going to the grocery store is now impossible. in other words any type of normalcy is now denied her. his final advice would be to live for herself not her parents. Darkfire: sure if you want them killed and an end to any sort of normal life. If you want them dead their are easier and safer ways, let talk about you and your parents. would you like them to respect you? love you? give you the praise you should have had growing up and surely deserve now. It could be possible you know...almost anything is you just have to have the will to ask and know the right person. I could help you with so much more than advice if you will but let me. John O'Malley II: our enemies are ruthless, evil, and willing to kill hundreds to blot out earths heroes your greatest power is secrecy never give it up.

    Tar

Re: Tar I'm at work so just glancing at the character Why the vulnerability to plant based powers? for Tar I would think vulnerability to fire would be more appropriate. Also a sticky entangle would fit the character. I'll go over it throughly later this evening.
  3. Re: Star Wars Campaign (Ideas/Stuff/Work) the Star Wars Deckplans Alliance http://deckplans.00sf.com/ It provides detailed deck plans, and back ground info, for a variety of light freighters and other craft. Its a reference I've used for years. The stats it supplies are for the old West End Games D6 system, but you could convert easily.
  4. Re: Character for review: Goblin then Goblin should be good for combat, 11DCV(14 if he dodges) with 28CON + 10PD/ED means hits should be rare and he can take, though not well, the odd shot that get through. If a DC10 attack hits and roles 9 more than average, well thems the breaks:cool:. However he should be relatively safe from being stunned against DC 8 attacks as they would have to role 15-16 above average to whack him.
  5. Re: Character for review: Goblin hmm... I was assuming 11DCV was on high end for your campaign, thus it would be statistically unlikely for him to be hit. what is the average OCV/DCV?
  6. Re: [Character] Maverick Just glancing over it the build seems fine. I got a definite Deadlands vibe from using a deck of cards to designate affects. the random nature of his offensive powers could easily result in the death of a normal 4D6 RKA vs 8 BODY = dead NPC. that may or may not be a problem for your campaign, however his card tricks role somewhat mitigates this problem. I really liked the background, and personality.
  7. Re: Powered Armor Cool! thanks for sharing. something like that would be neat for descriptions of PRIMUS or Viper bases, lets the players see how super-tech changes the world.
  8. Re: Character for review: Goblin The revised build is much more combat survivable, the drug treatments allow him to rely on an 11 DCV for defense and the +8 CON combined with his PD/ED ensure that your campaign average 8-10 DC attack won't stun him in one shot. a serious problem for the earlier version have you considered putting the drug treatments into an EC(I know your not supposed to but your the GM;))? it would save a few points and make his treatments more vulnerable to adjustment powers. Really this suggestion is nothing more than point shaving the build works as is. Love the disads by the way, I can see the party wanting to entangle him! just to avoid another hairbrained stunt. "No! we were supposed to ambush the clockwork legion" Goblin: "Ambush?!? what highlight reel shots is that going to garnish for me?" "but the plan" Goblin: "besides this way I'm back lit by the neon and got to make an aerial assault. what a rush." rest of party *Groan.*

  10. Re: WWYCD/W:The gift Darkfire: hmm she already has gained the magic of the fay, Daemonic , and Divine so Santa probably can't help with the last(plus it would wreck a main story arc) besides Darkfire wants to make Archmage on her own. So she'd probably ask to see her parents alive in front of her, this time she would not make the mistake of giving in to her hatred and killing them outright. she'd do it right, and trap their spirits so they could be tortured and killed again and again. Failing that the original copy of "unspeakable cults." Ironhide: the love of a good (immortal would be nice) woman. John O'Malley II: A week of peace and quite. also for untroubled sleep.
  11. Re: Pet Powers a long list of Knowledge Skills that always include History, Roman history, Latin, and either occult or theological knowledge. High defenses or orbital bombardment com link:thumbup:
  12. Re: What OOC role do you play in groups? I'm the Rules lawyer of the group, aided by the fact I tend to have a significant amount of supplements on a system I like. also I tend to take on the role of group quartermaster/ guy to ask for background-story info. I'm also the one who keeps the campaign journal and makes the weekly "newspaper" handouts All to often I'm the organizer and GM.
  13. Re: The Super Darwin Awards Our Speedster Supersonic(PD in the 20s decided the best way to break a high DEF force wall was to do a pushed move through. It didn't kill him but dropped him to -70 Stun and about 3 Body.
  14. Re: Evil organization with science + supernatural elements? I agree DAEMON's black scientists are the most logical choice. But you could use Interface, the arch-villain form the Champions Battlegrounds book, he and his organization are tech based, actually they are an sipn-off group from ARGENT. with the addition of a mage(maybe form DAEMON) they could easily meddle in techno-magical matters. after the PCs deal with Interface ARGENT and/or Daemon could notice them:D
  15. Re: [Char] Dead Head while the background and concept is certainly developed, it looks good to me although I do wonder if those he resurrects have the same craving as him. I have some questions his regeneration and mystic power reserve only active in death tainted areas seems rather limiting. instead of an endurance reserve why don't you just buy 20 pts of END and additional reserve +40 End (only usable in death tainted areas -2) second his defenses are low very low, with low DEX, Low stun, no martial arts and only a MP 12PD/12ED Force field his survivability in combat is questionable. an average 12 DC attack will stun him. If your GM allows you to building him as an automaton this would be less of a problem. also you might just want to buy a VPP instead of the the MP and his astral vision that way he could be a true necromancer.
  16. Re: The Super Darwin Awards back when I was GMing a long running West End Games Star Wars campaign I had two Darwin awards one evening one on me the other a PC playing and Imperial negotiator/spy. It was an Empire campgian. After ending a civil war the party was working to bring the plant into the Empire, they found evidence their was a Jedi on this plant after finding his location they called for stormtrooper backup and went after him. in the ensuing battle after the Jedi demonstrated he could fling objects with the force are PC playing an imperial spy, decides the best course of action is to toss two thermal detonators at the Jedi. despite repetated question myself and other players if "he was sure, really sure he wanted to do that." he threw'em. The Jedi promptly sent them right back atomizing the player and three storm troopers. Now came my Darwin moment I had the Jedi boost nothing they did could hurt him he could absorb or deflect their energy blasts or cut the imps in half if they charged. after witnessing the death of a fellow PC, Greg (who was playing a Stromtrooper commander) used his comlink and orders an orbital bombardment. The party ran back to the shuttle and fled. I was floored I hadn't remotely considered that approach(even though when he was promoted to commander I told him he could now arrange orbital bombardments:doi:.) thus what was intend to be along running villain was atomized along with several hab blocks. I gave him extra Ep for original thinking.
  17. Re: Is your character religious? Darkfire: Despite her rather dubious morality and mastery of the mystic arts she is a very religious person. perhaps because of her frequent use of Necromancy, Demonology and recent experiences with "divine magic" including a being she believes was an angelic entity Darkfire knows with utter certainty their is a God and their is hell. Given her continued morally questionable actions I'm not sure what this says about the character and whether she feels redemption is possible. while Darkfire would be classified as a Christian, she has no denomination yet. Her beliefs are currently solidifying are the emotional and physical trauma of the Heart of Darkness story arc. Ironhide: would classify himself as a Christian but hasn't been to church or talked religion in years. The issue never really comes up. he's just wants to be a hero and does his best at it. John O'Malley II: Catholic Father, member of the Dominican order, proud member of the holy Inquisition. He is Fanatically Catholic, a card carrying zealot. he is actually a fairly intolerant. He believes his divine powers are a literal gift form God, and he was put on earth to carry out the Lord's will/judgment. Given the Delta Green style campaign he is in and the regular conflict with mythos (call of Cthulhu) entities/cults and evil/daemonic creatures his attitude is very understandable.
  18. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... An army of demonic auditors *shudder* hmm clearly I misspoke, what I meant was a dumping ground for their best and most powerful daemons. Just to be on the safe side time to invest in a 30D6 dispel vs Daemonic auditors.
  19. Re: WWYCD: Dumb, Da-Dumb, Dumb, Dumb... Darkfire: I told you my city wide ritual to drain the intelligence of criminals would work! Jade I'm surprised you thought the magic was to complex, just because there was a slim chance at lobotomizing half the city you didn't want to do it. how you ever became a mage I'll never know. Ironhide: ask the resident telepath to check for some kind of brain Drain and enjoy the stupidity of criminals until its proven that they something other than naturally dumb. John O'Malley II: would hope that dumb criminals equates to dumb cultists if so its time to hit the cult of the Dark Pharaoh. he'd investigate believing the recent 'dumbness' was mystical in nature.
  20. Re: WWYCD: Harem Comedy from Hell Darkfire: Capitan Marvel is the one for me he just doesn't know it yet. Darkfire would view this situation as a godsend three obsessed suiters with power to spare, their list of uses is endless. she would find the the obsessed cult leader pathetically easy to manipulate given her upbring in the circle of the scarlet moon, however her contempt for him would almost ensure he and his followers were used as ritual sacrifices. she would milk the situation for every advantage before eliminating her presumptuous suiters. Ironhide: except for the cult leader might welcome the romantic interest as a solid neutornium superhuman his romance life has been pretty sterile. He'd enjoy the situation maybe one is a keeper. John O'Malley II: Oh God give me strength. The cult leader would be easy Inquisition meet cult-cult meet Inquisition now die. Given that he is a catholic father and sworn to celibacy he would try to explain that to the others the obsessed super he try to help the extradimensional entity he just might have to banish. which my GM would gleefully inform me that I'd just acquired a new hunted: "obsessive spurned lover."
  21. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. the Players ask to join VIPER so they can be on the winning side for once. your players prefer reading 6-7th century German legal texts to your scenarios. a player can take a four hour nap and miss nothing important.
  22. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... No Demons perfected taxes. hmm... that makes me wounder if Daemons view the IRS as some kind of dumping ground.
  23. Re: [Character] Taeser How about vulnerability to magnetic fields or water. you could even make him vulnerable to electrical based attacks his system just doesn't handle opposing current well.
  24. Re: Chars: Sureshot and Takedown That could be interesting! With two stealthy Martial Arts masters in my group the ensuing cat and mouse games would be enjoyable at least for me. thanks for sharing!
  25. Re: [Character] Taeser Braincraft has a point about the vulnerability to metal (don't know how I missed that) even a thug with a knife could be deadly. you might just want to drop his attack power all together and just make him a pure martial artist/ skill beast. at the very least given his low defenses you might want to rearrange some points to buy DCV levels, that way he is much harder to hit but can still have low defenses.
