  1. The Gloom Mite is a grimm ... it purplose is only to wreak havoc with the nervous system. The not a traditional villain more of parasite. It designed by Salem to vex heroes.
  2. Sorry I was not more specific, so i created the critter as best i could I have attached Gloom Mite.hdc file (used Hero Designer) The critter is very small (I not give it physical limitation for being small as being extremely tiny is more advantages then otherwise). I still not fully have it written up yet. Like others should take penalty to see it (not sure if any good way to do that other than shrinking ... it is 8 mm long tops!. It helps if one understands the world of RWBY. Also attached image of power section. Gloom Mite.hdc
  3. Some creatures can burrow into other creatures, or gain entrance into the body of host. I want to create a creature to have the ability to enter another creature and yet be a seperate entity and not a disease/poison. How best to build such a creature?
  4. Zicron witness seeing one of newly made friends suffer a critical hit (natural roll of 3 on 3d6) and the player character had aready suffered bosy from other attacks. This one crit would have taken the player character to nearly triple his body (he only had the base body of 10) and his force field had already dropped from other attacks. The special effect is that player character remembers his head flying thru the Air and seeing his body without a head (special effect for being dead), then it did not happen as Zicron's Ghosts prevented much of the damage (Healed it, as from Zircon's point of view he just saw his friend die as he sees a few seconds into the future). I might have been better to have it defense usable by another or such ... but the Temporal Ghost able to amp auras of others (healing) so they not die ... they not able to heal the crit but was able to heal the prior damage thus allowing the player character to not be double his base body). I still ponder if I should reinvent the Semblance/Super power. Naturally the player character suffers nightmares of seeing his head decapitated and "flying away" from his body. The player never dodges, always puts all levels to hit, so is always being hit ... a lot. On the other hand that same character has killed many NPCs and Grimm (Monsters) due to auto fire killing attack. Sharing is Caring.
  5. I been running a campaign in the World of Remnant, which is the world that RWBY is set in. If one not familiar with RWBY one can simply go to Rooster Teeth and check it out. I love RWBY because it has elements of Super-Powers called which are call Semblances. Nearly all Melee weapons are also a Gun. All character names are colors, make you think of a color, sounds like a color, or means a color. Characters are loosely based on a Fable, Legend or Myth ... et cetera. The one thing that most difficult is fully defining Aura ... as related to characters in show it is a force field (resistance protection), Stun, Regeneration to some degree (fairly low level), Recovery (Jaune and Hazel come to mind), Endurance and lastly Body. I just inform my players that each of these attributes are an aspect of "Aura" instead of just trying to make one super characteristic. The Aura (force field) effect I have written up seems to be working fairly well and written as follows: Aura - Defense: Resistant Protection (12 PD/12 ED) (Protect Carried Items) (46 Active Points); Aura Damage ** (Aura Reduced by 2 PD/2 ED for each 5 points of Stun Character Takes, Each Post 12 Aura Replenishes 2 PD/2 ED; -1/2), Costs Half Endurance (-1/4) ** Aura Damage is something I came up with as a limitation to show how Aura breaks: Mid-break (shimmer when it drops to 6pd/6ed or less) and final break when no force field at all). Naturally this is an Ad-Hoc limitation I created to help represent how aura seems to me how it works in the show. Wonder if others have other ideas how it be better explained or such. I run the game on Saturday mornings from 11:30 am 2:30 pm EST (baring Real-Life events that prevent such). The game is set in the world of Remnant, just after the fall of Atlas (Season 8 of the series) While the campaign is not Cannon, I strive to keep it as close to flavor/feel of RWBY (Cannon Adjacent !?). The players roleplay their original characters that they created. I use Champions Complete for the game mechanics. I do not insist the players know the game system, just role play the character. I ask many questions of the players to help create a balance character. I use Discord and Theater of the mind as I am not Super Tech savvy. The players are to abide by a few rules: • Characters cannot be Maidens of Seasons. • Do not know magic. • Do not serve Salem or evil agenda. • Do not personally know cannon characters (but may have meet them in class or lunchroom or what have you). • And characters will not be in Vacuo (but may have come from there). • Abide by knowing that the kingdoms still are in need of huntsmen and huntresses from Grimm, bandits and other surprises and thus not rush off to Vacuo. While currently the group on Saturday Day is fairly full (5 players) I been thinking of expanding to either Friday Night (or even Sunday) twice a month. Naturally I am wondering if anyone else is running a RWBY style campaign using Hero Game system. Sorry for the long post and not even sure I placed it in the correct portion of the forum. ^
  6. What advantage value would you assign for such?
  7. What is value of limitation "Only to Resist Shove, Grab & Throw, and Related Effects"? -1, -1½, -2? All my books except Champions Complete are in storage.
  8. It not just knockback resistance it weight as well ... or just take knockback resistance and say the person weights mega tons of weight and thus no can just lift him and throw him
  9. Yes much like the blob. Was thinking that some place in the multiple dimensions should be some place to cling too: Anomaly Anchor: Clinging (+30 STR), Transdimensional (Single Dimension; +1/2*) (30 Active Points) Anomaly Achor: Density Increase (200,700 kg mass, +0 STR, -24m KB) (48 Active Points); No STR Increase (-1/2), No Defense Increase does not provide PD or ED (-1/4) Real Cost 27, Active Cost 48. Special Effect is that others wishing to pick him up and move him treats him at much higher weight. But this increase weight has no effect on surfaces he interacts with. Just moving the character.
  10. Looking for an effect that would anchor a character so he/she be difficult to move from position, be it someone grabing him/her to knockback to recoil of a gun. Any suggestions ... I have a few idea wondering in my head but like to hear from others first.
  11. In my games I allow for Usable As Another Form Of Movement to allow for Blended Movement ... for example a dolphin that swims and 'jumps' out of the water and dives back in, or character that runs and then Leaps (Olympic Long Jump Event !?). That just my two cents on the subject. Maybe a new +¼ Advantage need to be created for Blended Movement (I personally not feel the need for such).
  12. Even when I create my own documents I like to mirror the fonts in products. It is reason I was wondering what fonts were used in Champions Complete and 6E core books?
  13. I was building a summon with Fewer Tasks in Hero Designer (due to special effect of character I am writing up) and not see it available in limitations. Did i miss something? Work around was to add a custom modifier called Fewer Tasks.
  14. So i not notice focus ... Adding OAF Sword would impact cost in favor of Constant version. Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 2d6 (2 1/2d6 w/STR), Constant (+1/2) (45 Active Points); OAF (-1), 2 Continuing Charges lasting 5 Minutes each (-1/2), Conditional Power Power does not work in Uncommon Circumstances (Must Roll To Hit For Every Attack; -1/4) .. Real Cost: 16 Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 2d6 (2 1/2d6 w/STR), Time Limit (5 Minutes; +1) (60 Active Points); 2 Charges (-1 1/2), OAF (-1) ... Real Cost: 17
  15. I remember Champions 3 where they had a random hero generator starting with page 8. Page 9 stated If during any first roll you get an "As Previously Rolled" result, you should reroll; take the new result and assume that your character rolled the new Power twice. Rolling a Power twice increases the cost and effectiveness of that Power. If you get "As Previously Rolled" again, assume you've rolled the new Power three times. Each Power listing contains the effects of rolling that Power multiple times. I was creating some characters for fun and in chart it kept getting result of 10 and when when done I got an outrageous amount of +REC and +CON (pages 15 &17). That Character ended up with 40 CON and 50 Recovery. He was a Brick with 60 STR. Never once did I have to buy reduced endurance and was my favorite characters (and frustration to many GMs). He get knocked down and out only to comeback with a single recovery.
  16. I been running a game using Champions Complete and playing in the RWBY: Remnant universe since July 2021. Those not familiar with RWBY it is an animated series made by Rooster Teeth ... which i like to call American anime (my nephew always corrects me and says anime is only from Japan). While I been running Hero Games since 1981 on and off, thus very familiar with the rules sometimes I like input from others about a superpower or other effects. In RWBY a character's superpower is referred to as Semblance. A NPC i have introduced by the name Zicron has he ability to see just a tad into the future (like 4 seconds max), the power effects I figure would give him a DCV bonus, plus he has a power that can be used not very often. This power is Temporal Heal. Special effect is that he can hyper move and displace hits so they not deliver as much damage thus saving that person from death. Below is what i have created. Temporal Stimulant: Healing STUN 7d6 (standard effect: 21 points), Area Of Effect (4m Radius; +1/4), Transdimensional (Single Dimension; +1/2) (122 Active Points); Time Modifier (-1/2), Increased Endurance Cost (x2 END; -1/2), Requires A Roll (13- roll; -1/4), Unified Power (Temporal Simulant & Temporal Heal; -1/4) Time Heal: Healing BODY 2d6 (standard effect: 6 points), Can Heal Limbs, Resurrection, Area Of Effect (4m Radius; +1/4), Transdimensional Time (Single Dimension; +1/2) (79 Active Points); Time Modifier (-1/2), Increased Endurance Cost (x2 END; -1/2), Linked (???; -1/2), Requires A Roll (13- roll; -1/4), Unified Power (Temporal Simulant & Temporal Heal; -1/4) The transdimensional aspect is the four seconds he sees in the future via precognition. He has Temporal Ghosts that help effect these changes. Or perhaps just a trigger Heal (or other effect like damage reduction usable by others), to what he sees just fraction of second in the future. Figure Transdimensional Travel to variant reality which others not take as much damage, sorta like a write up i have seen for Wish. But that not really what I had in mind for power. Inputs and Opinions welcome if they not line up with my original write up.
  17. Call me a bit old fashion. My father told me to support Businesses by buy from them so they stay in business. I have a friend that not have much money and thought it be nice tor them to have Hero Designer. I not so crass to just give them my copy I have., because that not supportive of the game I love. So how does one buy for another?
  18. When trying to create a sword that normal written without Constant with 0 End. But by using charges ... energy expands size of sword to be longer and thus change long sword to a two-handed sword.
  19. When I go to Limitations: Charges I not see an option for Continuing Fuel Charge... how do i add that, did I miss something?
  20. Much thanks! Appreciate It. Making Characters for a RWBY Campaign and wanted it to be clean looking. Works like a charm.
  21. Any tools that covert cleanly to html to pdf. I not been able to find any at this time.
  22. Was thinking this might be valid write up!? Shunt Gravity: One to Three Levels Of "Variant" Shrinking, Each Level Reduces Mass By 1/8th, And Subject Takes An additional +6m KB, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Usable Simultaneously (Up To 4 People At Once; +1 1/2), Grantor Pays The END Whenever The Power Is Used, Grantor Controls The Power Totally, Recipient Must Be Within Standard Range Of The Grantor For Power To Be Granted (54 Active Points); Does Not Reduce Height, Nor Increase DCV And Does Not Effect PER Rolls To Perceive Character (-3/4) Cost 31 Character Points OR As An Attack Shunt Gravity: Minor Transform 9d6 (Transform Object/Person Into Lighter Weight Version Of Object/Person, 0.00390625 Weight, +10m KB Modifier Only Increases The Distance A Character/Object Travels From Knockback, Not The Damage Taken Character/Object Takes. , Default Of REC 4 For Objects) (45 Active Points); Rapid Healing REC per Hour (-1) Real Cost 22 Cost 4 Endurance HERO Designer only allows a Maximum of -1 for Rapid Healing.
  23. The 'Special Effect' would be that Gravity would not be able to strongly latch onto something .... so person/object under the "effect" while within earth's gravity field would be like they are on the Moon to represent the effect gravity has on that person. So they could jump further, be lighter for others to carry them, when hit they take increase knockback ... et. cetera.
  24. An example would be lighten the mass of of 747 plane so one can just walk off with it. Or to just carry downed companions more easier. I suppose +Str only to self and others to lift said objects or persons?
  25. I know Density Increase increases Mass. But how would one handle mass Density Decrease? Making a Character lighter and/or having character reduce another's or object's mass?
