Things you can say about your Hero character, but not your girlfriend.

  3. Re: The Mind Controlling Hero

My first Hero character was a heroic mentalist, Psybolt. Of course, as I developed him and became a GM, he became a villain as the power got to him. Heroic mentalists can be done... but the power can corrupt

  4. Re: Thoughts on SPD

I think the SPD limit for NCM is right at 4. SPD allows PCs to move and act and I have found that they always max out on that characteristic if they can. Instead of changing the limit of the NCM, that sounds like something that a GM can change. If you want to have a campaign where NCM characters can have a 6 SPD, then do it. Or a GM can decide to keep the point total to increase past 4 at the regular 10 ot level. The reason for the higher cost past the 4 SPD is to prevent players from all having huge SPDs. Instead of changing that rule, it might be better to divorce the SPD from the DEX.

    Its ALL good, baby! =)

That just means you're the GM... happen to live in NE Illinois? =)

No, not in Illinois. I'm a neighbor. In Iowa. I do the GMing for our group, but I always enjoyed the chances I had to play. The others in the group couldn't maintain the GMing or handle the challenging players we have.

  6. Hi all... I just wanted to express how much I am enjoying the Hero System books. I just recently returned to GMing (hopefully) after a LONG layoff. My friends and I used to be heavy gamers, but life interfered. Recently, another friend tried to encourage us to get back in and I have began to undertake a new campaign. We were fans of the 4th edition Hero before, but we were out of gaming when most of the 5th edition came out. I had picked up the main book, but it didn't seem like we would game anymore so it didn't seem resonable to continue buying books.

Since we will hopefully continue, I have purchased a handful of books (Ultimate Mystic, Pulp Hero, Bestiary, Dark Champions) and I wanted to say that I have found them to be very entertaining and I have enjoyed reading them all. I think they are of a very high quality and I hope Hero continues for a long time. Thanks.

  7. Re: Hero Action Points and bribes

It depends on the type of players in your group. I see nothing wrong with it. I have a friend who, during his college years gamed at his college and he tells a story about a GM offering experience points to the first player who could bring him a fork ( during a food break... the GM needed one, I guess). This sent the players madly running out to get the utensil. That's just funny. I can see my friend doing it too. He says the GM got his fork.
