Re: real powered armorer lim thanks ZED-F this was the kind of response i was looking for. i think i need to distill some of the ideas that i and others have had. 1] that under ideal conditions it takes 5 turns to don and power up Powered Armorer 2] that without regular maintenance [say weekly] systems will fail to operate reliable and that environmental factors may push this down to Daly {this may be done in the Field for a week or so with out resupply} 3] that incidental damage to the powered armorer from combat or the environment will requirer periodic repair to keep all systems operational and that repairer's requirer appropriate parts and facility's{ such as a lab bass or research facility} 4] that swimming and leaping are degraded unless the powered armorer is specifically designed to operates in thees modes {has purchased thees ability's as powers} 5] that unless the powered armor has LS diminished eating/excreting than it should be removed after a maximum of 8 hours 6] that sleeping in powered armorer is taxing on the operator and should be avoided 7] that both touch and smell/taste sense gropes are severely hampered by the wearing of powered armorer 8] that effects targeted against things like electronics computers and machines will adversely effect powered armorer that seems a good start question's, comments or suggestions
  4. Re: Putting on Power Armor yes absolutely but i do not think that it would mater any less if you purchased your powered armorer as only in hero ID or as IIF instead of as OIF the effects of real powered armor would remain the same

Re: real powered armorer lim I must disagree i can see it used in a Iron aged Super heroic or non Champions Universe game. i also think that as powered armor is a signal item then the real powered armorer lim should incorporate the disadvantages of both real armor and real weapon lims. you did excellent job of summarizing Real Armorer now what i am looking for are ideas about real powered armorer:)

  9. on a previous thread i suggested that the real armor lim should be used to represent realistic Powered armor that takes time to don and power up etc to this end i poss the question . how should "Real Powered Armorer -1/4 lim." read in comparison to the H5R and FH descriptions and should it carry over to the hole sweet of powers that represent champions powered armorer eg should it apply to all the powers defined as powered armor or just the def.

Re: Putting on Power Armor i guess i should try and pick up FH 5th. there are some nice aspects to real armor like the need to repairer and maintain it that might cause problems if the character is stuck in the Amazon or the moon for a long time. i would however think that we are taking minuets not turns to get in and out of powered armorer say 5 min unassisted 2min with help IMO PS thanks for the rep PSS i like the Iron Age aspect to this use of the lim.
  12. Re: Learning Curve? there was a time when the BBB came with a copy of hero maker, dos Any one Else think it would be a good idea to do the same H5R and HD. the learning curve for play is a lot less steep then for character generation. perhaps a time sensitive down load? just a thought

Re: [Character Concept] Knockabout -- Mechanics Only don't like the activation roll on all the powers really don't like the costs end on the life support or the dis features. not shore if the damage reduction should be in the E.C. that go's double for the radar see 128 pg over all i don't think i like the build concepts OK hi def, low attack reminds me of kinetron from hi tech enemies

Re: Learning Curve? well if you mean that there are no starting point's for example player i want to play blaster ,gm hears template add some stuff to it like a name and a description and have a character . i don't intrinsically like it but 3rd ed hero/villein option for a bunch 250pt characters i remember a lot of newbies playing Pulsar and Green Dragon there first couple times ,seems like a reasonable idea.

I think that hero is at hart a rather simpel game but at this stage it would be intimadating to new player. the rules that i started with were 80 pg's H5R is all most 600. i knowe that are shoole systems are geting werss but i would hope that the average gamer can do the simpel math reqiered to play it. I have a seres lerning disability but that didn't slow me down{you may see this in my spelling from time to time ,thank god for spell cheqe } as for the lerning curve well it starts faral steep but then gently slopes to a monumental presapes.

  25. Re: The Stilleto I read a book last year called "skunk works" about the guys who worked for Lockheed spy plane programs eg u-2 and stealth fighter . that mentioned that the stealth tech came from navel research . a really grate read about men who think out side the box.
