  1. Re: Fighting while seated on a motorcycle Yup that makes sense. I wouldn't like a Bike without a turn mode. Reducing it would be fine but, to me it needs the Turn mode to feel like a bike.
  2. Re: Fighting while seated on a motorcycle That is definately within the rules but, as a GM, I would have trouble allowing a running focus to represent a motorcylce without some serious limitations...
  3. Re: Fighting while seated on a motorcycle Now there is an interesting thought, how do you handle that "rules-wise"?
  4. I have a PC in my game that fights while riding a motorcycle. I have several hero books but I'm having trouble finding where it describes how this affects his DCV and what martial manuevers he can perform while riding. Can he use his Dirty Infighting martial dodge? Should he use the vehicles DCV even though the opponent is targeting his body? We don't use hit location, but would he get any DEF from the bike? I have the Ultimate Vehicle but I am having trouble find these issues that seem unique to Motorcycles. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx!
  5. Re: Super Hero? ::Eyes Glaze Over:: What do you mean silly!? I have spandex and a cape on under my clothes right now as I type this! Man, I hope somebody does some evil soon! they are gonna get the
  6. Re: What would your inner geek pick? Yeah, though it probably would have been Eddie VanHalen first. I'm a guitar geek as well. But back in the day, that kind of geekyness used to get you girls, RPG's... not so much!
  7. Re: Super Hero? ::Eyes Glaze Over:: Actually, I've found a similar problem here. Most people that Roleplay around here like Fantasy and D20. I have gotten the feeling in the past that many Fantasy fans see Comics as an inferior form of literature. When you compare 90's Image to LOTR they might be right but comparing Allan Moore and Frank Miller to RA Salvatore is another story. (Before I get flamed, I like all of the above ). I also find that a lot of comic fans that game see Hero as a big learning curve. Frustrating. I was lucky enough to have 2 good consistant players who are willing to play 2 PCs each. Not the ideal situation but we have fun.
  8. Re: What would your inner geek pick? I'll concur with Supes. Umm Thor. Luvs me some Thor. Much less powerful, but I always wanted to be Bruce Lee. And just to annoy you I would say Jimi Hendrix. Write that up! Foxy Lady! I'm comin ta getcha!
  9. Re: Anybody got a map/floorplan? Great! Thanx!
  10. Re: Kewlest things about Vibora Bay? Great responses! thanx!
  11. Re: SPD inflation obesrvation & solution There is truth to what you are saying, but I think most Superheroes are able to take signifigantly more actions than normals in fiction. Many times in fiction the superhero is sorrounded by opponents and using the ability to act more often to defeat them. In other Genre's there is less of a difference and I think the system already addresses this. Of course, you can save points by using the finesse that you describe and it would show better tactics and game knowledge at the table. But, to me, its all relative. Batman at speed 4 mooks at 1 or 2 and Batman at speed 6 and the mooks at 3 would be about the same. The difference comes back to movement per turn and of course how often you can take a phase 12 Recovery. This issue hasn't affected my game negatively and I'm too lazy to change the SPD's of the Villians in my Campaign. It would actually change a lot. The Pc's would spend less on speed and spend the points elsewhere, so I feel like I would need to do the same for every villian. I think that what people are saying in this thread is more or less true, its just really not an issue worth fixing for me.
  12. Re: SPD inflation obesrvation & solution Definately not normal. But I haven't ever run into a problem like this in any games I have run. I have never had a Martial artist character think he could catch a speeding car on foot. (of course your example was going the speed limit). The only time I really compared speeds of a character and a vehicle was when I had a character with alot of swinging. I realized that he could swing as fast as a sports car. This seemed rediculous until I thought of asll the time Sidey chases down speeding cars while webslinging. Not realistic but it works in the genre. There does some to be inconsistancy when having speed determine number of attacks and movement, but it still seems to work for me.
  13. Re: Super Origins I can agree on some level that "freak accident origins" are a bit played out, but they are a huge staple of superhero fiction. If I play a superhero game I'm not really pissed because someone has a Freak Accident origin, we foil a bank robbery or Dr. Destroyer threatens the world with an earthquake generator...again. Is it cliche or an homage to the stories we grew up with? I like the Champions Universe for the same reason. It is obviously influenced by Marvel and DC and some of the characters are obvious rip-offs/homages (depending on your POV) but that is what makes it feel like a comic setting. I have played with some that prefer a more original setting but I think the CU gives you a chance to have a DC or Marvel feel while still being able to do what you want with the characters. So that what I use. Hmm I think I rambled a bit off topic...
  14. Re: Anybody got a map/floorplan? Thanx man!
  15. Re: Grond, underpowered pansy? I kind of cheated. I changed the vulnerabilty. Oherwise he would have been a joke to my players. One of them is very fire-based.
  16. I am looking for a kewl floorplan for a VTOL Troop/prisoner transport that a group like primus might have. I also need to map out Warlords Flying Fortress. Since I am lazy, I thought I would consult the Great Hero Board Elders.
  17. Re: Super Origins This kind of thinking is bizaar to me. I love Batman, Superman, and Thor. When I read this story I didn't feel that Supe's magic vulnerability meant that Thor should win hands down. Anything could of happened. Magic doesn't = Supes gets his arse kicked. It means he could get his arse kicked. Who want's to read a story where A always equals B equals C. To me that is unrealistic. Real life is never that black and white.
  18. Re: C25 for 50 bucks !!!! Hmm, hopefully I can come up with 50 bones before they are all gone! I really want to run that Dr Destroyer adventure!
  19. Re: Super Origins Id probably allow it, but the hero would be only be a weakened (350pt) avator of the God. He would gain more power as he/she became worthy. Yeah that soundz good!
  20. Re: Superhero Images Here is another one of the same character. I just used a spiderman pose I found on the animotions site. This stuff is fun!
  21. Re: Super Origins I agree, the tone of the campaign is important. If someone brings me a character that seems like it should be in an episode of The Tick then I would have to pass. (Though I've thought aboout running a Tick-like one-shot game)
