  1. Possibly play-by-post on the Clubs section of this site.
  2. Any interest in a San Angelo-set campaign? In it, the heroes are members of the Justice Foundation superhero team and have to be, at least, 16-years-old. Paragon has passed away, as has Benjamin Morgan. The heroes have two aircraft, the second-generation Turbojet, and a helicopter as well as a small support staff.
  3. The Champions are based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their headquarters is ob a former brownfield site off Second Avenue in the Hazelwood neighborhood that's close to two UPMC parking lots. Their aircraft take off and land close to the Monongahela River and can be seen taking off and landing from the Hot Metal Bridge.
  4. From today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette When the City of Pittsburgh’s single-use plastic bags ban begins Oct. 14, Giant Eagle intends to donate the money it gets from charging customers 10 cents for paper bags to local organizations that invest in greener outdoor spaces, company officials said Tuesday. “We are excited to implement this unique pass-through of paper bags we are required to collect to benefit organizations that are planting trees, cleaning waterways, and upgrading city park systems throughout the City of Pittsburgh,” said Cara Mercil, Giant Eagle director of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, in a prepared statement. “The donation program will enable customers to participate in our contribution to the Pittsburgh community through their paper bag purchases.” Under the city-wide ban, paper carry-out bags may be provided by businesses for a minimum of 10 cents per bag, with retailers keeping all fees, according to the City of Pittsburgh’s website. The funds will be donated to the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Riverlife, Allegheny Cleanways, Grow Pittsburgh and Tree Pittsburgh. The money will help fund the development of city parks near the 14 participating Giant Eagle, Market District and GetGo locations, the company said.
  5. The 1966 TV series Batman showed Gotham City with a large harbor and in both Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures, Gotham City is on a bay and has a lighthouse. From Wikipedia: Delaware Bay is the estuary outlet of the Delaware River on the northeast seaboard of the United States, lying between the states of Delaware and New Jersey. It is approximately 782 square miles (2,030 km2) in area, the bay’s freshwater mixes for many miles with the saltwater of the Atlantic Ocean. The shores of the bay are largely composed of salt marshes and mudflats, with only small communities inhabiting the shore of the lower bay. Several of the rivers hold protected status for their salt marsh wetlands bordering the bay, which serves as a breeding ground for many aquatic species, including horseshoe crabs. The bay is also a prime oystering ground.
  6. Where would Gotham City be in the Champions Universe? My guess is near Toms River, New Jersey.
  7. Another idea is that the heroes are an expansion team of The Champions located in Pittsburgh.
  8. This would also work in Coastal City, Connecticut, with Walt Whitman High School (home of the Dragons) replacing Taylor Allderdice High School and the University of Coastal City (home of the Pumas) replacing the University of Pittsburgh.
  9. Many blame the violence on underage individuals who drink and take drugs on the street and loiter in nearby parking lots.
  10. The rules used depends on the age of the hero. Those of high school age use the Teen Champions rules, which, I think, mostly add drama.
  11. The heroes are teen vigilante heroes in Pittsburgh, either in the 11th or 12th grade in Taylor Allderdice High School or undergrads at the University of Pittsburgh.
  12. Coastal City is in Connecticut and is based on Ivy Town and Calvin City.
  13. The idea was that there was a gateway somewhere within the pool, which is normally 16-feet deep, behind the Emsworth Locks and Dam on the Ohio River at Nevelle Island that leads to a pocket universe where the island is. On the Allegheny River, which is one of the sources of the Ohio River, the pool ends at the #2 Locks and Dam, which is just downstream of the Highland Park Bridge. On the Monongahela River, which is the other source of the Ohio River, the pool ends at the #2 Locks and Dam, also called the Braddock Locks and Dam, a bit downstream of the abandoned Carrie Furnace (Railroad) Hot Metal Bridge. The above is, of course, for a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-set campaign.
  14. It's a place where merfolk gather. Some may live there permanently, but it's not required. There could be a moonpool, but it's also not required.
  15. Coastal City, from the 3E module Atlas Unleashed, is a generic coastal city with a bay, a hospital (possibly more than one), a swank hotel, a fine art museum, a power company, an over-crowded freeway system, and a factory-lined channel (which may be a river). An air force base and NASA telemetry station are nearby. We can postulate that it is a major city with a university, a school system, shopping and residential districts, parks, a zoo, and government buildings. A lighthouse may be on an island in the bay and a general aviation airport is possible.
  16. Anyone know of a substitute for Mako Island from H2O: Just Add Water and Mako Mermaids? I might stick it an an extra-dimensional area.
  17. Since East Carson Street is losing bars to the lawlessness at nights caused, in part, by drunks, it'll probably be in Oakland, near the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and Carlow University, possible on South Craig Street.
  18. Grace is backed up by Christine, a computer expert she worked with in the agency, who provides the heroes with useful information and research.
  19. Here's the revamped Grace. She's an ex-cat burglar who was required to join a United States intelligence agency after being arrested for her crimes and had to stay with them for three years in order to avoid prison sentence.
  20. One thing I had forgotten about Coastal City, which is from a 3E module, is that it's meant to be a generic coastal city, like Metropolis, Gotham City, or Ivy Town (where the second Atom lived).
  21. Grace is a PRIMUS Intelligence agent who is the local team’s liaison. She is very skilled at working undercover as a cat burglar and is willing to act as her team’s driver, lookout, and backup. She calls out, “Blue dots,” if she’s going to use a flash bomb and is armed with, among other things, a suppressed nine-millimeter pistol loaded with knockout darts. She dubbed her PRIMUS spider “Charlotte”.
  22. Coastal City is in New England on or near Long Island Sound.
  23. The pit might also have sporadic eruptions of various kinds of energy.
  24. I might move the bar to East Carson Street on the South Side. To be precise, it'll be, like Zorba's, in the neighborhood known as The South Side Flats.
  25. The Light-Fingered Lady first appeared in my first Junior Justice Foundation campaign as a bar in the University Commons neighborhood for those who liked to dress like cat burglars. Of course, some real cat burglars and police detectives might drink there, too, but they had to act like regular people.
