Longest Running Thread EVER

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

Hmm. So far could one carry a beer keg filled with sand' date=' weighting 265 pounds?[/quote']

Much better with beer inside. I could carry the 265 one across a street and even three years ago a bit further, and when I was in my early 20s a lot further.

But doesn't sound like much fun.

This was an event at the Highland Games on Sunday. You pick the keg up from a table, so not much dead lift to start. Have to keep it clutched to your chest. It's sand-filled because it is expected that it'll get dropped, and they only have the one keg. Terrain is smooth lawn sort of stuff, but every 50 feet you have to execute a U-turn with the keg while you carry it.

I suspected as much. Those are bit awkward to carry, but not too bad. Ironically, I've been helping people move the last couple weeks and I keep having to tell people it's easier for me to carry a heavy object by myself if it's not too bulky, than having to match steps and height with someone a foot shorter than me. And I don't think I was moving anything heavier than 100 lbs today.

My standard solution too. Though the height difference is less commonly a problem for me. ;)

It was pleasant being on the beach around midday when the temperature downtown got close to 90 F. Lots of creatures on the beach, in the tide pools, attached to the rocks and pilings, etc., too.
