Bazza
The last active ruler of Ancient Egypt is Cleopatra (there are others, but none really ruled). She was Pharaoh. Cleopatra & Mark Antony fought against Octavian who later became Augustus Caesar. Like the Pharaoh's before him, Augustus Caesar was said to be. deity. The word Caesar was later used by both Holy Roman Emperors' Kaiser (German) & Russian Tsar. The last German Emperor was Wilhelm II, the monarchy was abolished in 1918. He lived to 1941. The last Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, who died 1918, the monarchy was abolished one year before. His family, the Romanovs are famous. In the Russian Orthodox Church he is Saint Nicholas II of Russia. Is Tsar Nicholas II of Russia the last Pharaoh? Or Kaiser Wilhelm II who died decades after the Tsar? As Pharaoh were deified, and Nicholas II achieved sainthood, I'd say it's him. Either way, it is a remarkable coincidence. Oh, and up until Decius (251 AD), Roman Emperors were listed as pharaohs when they were in Egypt. Bottom line: it would make for a remarkable Da Vinci code style thriller.
Cancer
The boundary between political power and ecclesiastical power was always blurry. I don't know how the Holy Roman Emperors fared in that regard.
