WWYCD: Six Million Thugs

One night, while either patrolling or just out of civic duty, your character interupts what seems to be a perfectly normal turf war befween rival street gangs. He finds out the hard way these goons are anything but normal. All of them have been augmented with ultra high tech cybernetic implants and bionic limbs, making most of them a fair match for a 300 point Champions character. These cybernetic are about 30+ years ahead of campaign standards as far as design goes. Tech heads can tell they were designed to eventually malfuction, violently killing the subject. More insidiously they override certain areas of the brain stimulating aggression and paranoia in the subject. The final bizzare twist is that none of the cyber thugs remembers getting installed. Its a blank spot in their minds but they all seem to enjoy the new hardware. More and more of these cybernetically enhanced gangs are forming and damage toll mounts every day.

What does your character do?

Hrm.

Sludge: Get very annoyed. Especially at the getting crushed.

Since he doesn't know about the side effects, try and get hooked up. If he can't, try and ambush/kill all of the newly enhanced.

Android: Be very glad 300 point equivalent gang members aren't really a match for him. Trash them. Take the tech home to get studied. Possibly get an upgrade out of it :). Try and stop it, probably by using supersenses to locate the origin. (Obviously, play it by ear...)

Estatua: Narrowly escape. Call upon teammates to deal with the crisis. Be prepared to have it declared a state of national emergency...

Mostly, not take point on this one. It's not anything he's good with.

Rook: Develop an AE EMP blast, quickly? Be very interested in anything involving future tech; he might be able to spot the difference despite a relative lack of tech skills due to being from the future. Hope they have energy weapons. :D

Division: Dunno. Heavily affected by what he's ordered to do. Definately going to have to go with find out and disable early rather than brute force, tho.

Nox: Would work at saving people(As a teleporter, she's rarely hurt), while also tracking down who's doing this. Hopefully, her postcognition will work enough to give her team some leads. She's likely to be upset over it.

Princess Cyrande: Intial fight is over quickly, and she likely turns things over to the Earth authorities. If pressed, she might be willing to use her powers to help with the cyborging, though she'd still complain about Earth's primative tech. (Malvan)

Microman II: Wouldn't have much trouble with the goons, but would be concerned. Checks out the cybernetics with help from Dad, finds out the booby trap. Calls in the rest of the Sentinels if the evidence either dead ends or looks like it leads to someone nasty ( Dr D, VIPER, Mechanon, etc ).

Diomedes: If he survives finding out about the cybernetics, calls in Aegis to help, as he'll definitely need it to deal with these guys. Probably tries to keep various gangs under observation, to catch whatever is borging them in the act.

Swear. A lot. While dodging lazer beams and diving for cover far more then he cares too. He hates it when situations are beyond his control like this. Chances are whatever gadgets he has on him aren't capable of taking out the cyber thugs quickly and they're likely beyond even his butt kicking skills. His only recourse is to fall back and call in back up.

Avalon on the other hand would fly up to the maximum range for her EB then open fire, spreading the beam in order to get a better chance of hitting them. She'd trust in her forcefield to keep her safe. If she can't blast them to pieces that way, well actually she'd probably call in backup no matter what she did.

Anthem would be most likey to piss these guys off since she deals frequnetly with street gang violence, but she's the least able to deal with it. She definitely need friends to quell the madness.

Uncle Slam has (nearly) all of the resources of Primus, and while he'd do well at taking out handfuls of these guys solo, he'd likely go about investigating how they came about this stuff (through interrogation of captured individuals), then he'd bait a trap to lure most of them to one place, then send in the heroes, PRIMUS and spring the trap.

Audra Blue has cybernetics. She'd want to study them. She'd insist on having the opporutnity to study the electronics. Then she'd build a virus that overwrites the coding and makes them docile. Barring that, she'd write a virus that causes such levesl of aggression that they would likely burst their own blood vessels. (She's willing to sink to that level if she feels there's no other way to save lives.)

Ballistic would likely charge blithly into combat, and quickly realize she is in trouble. Any one of these guys she could take, but two whole gangs? Not likely. She'd probably use her superspeed to try and contain the damage, while calling in reinforcements. She'd run around the edges of the battle, striking where appropriate, trying to help civilians that get caught in the battle, making sure no stragglers get away. Then, when the rest of the team gets there, its time to kick butt!!!

Pinnacle: After barely surviving the initial fight, Pinnacle calls in the rest of her team. Gear would assigned with finding a means to collectively shut down the cyborgs while the rest of us try to track their source. Hopefully once the source was located would move in to take it out in combined assault with the Guard.

Menagerie: Baselines upgrading themselve is a concern to Evolution even if the deaths are limited to mostly baselines. Her group would be to accquire the technology and destroy its creator, possible leading to a brief "teamup" with Force One.

Carlie (Stopwatch): "Bionic Gangbangers? When the hell did I drop into a comic book?" Being outclassed and against the idea of pain in the first place, she'd let the more militant freaks in her school deal with it. Unless of course "Baldy" assigned it as an after school project or something.
