RPMiller
Re: Duke (art and characters) Just finished going through the thread. Very nice work Duke! I look forward to seeing more of it. I also checked out your site. What were the cartoon illustrations for?
wagnern
Re: Duke (art and characters) Only in the east can you have big bad tough guys wearing floral prints. and yes, cool pictures. BTW as far as the 'big head problem' goes I don't know. Every one seems to be 6.5 to 7 heads tall. 7 heads is the artistic convention, but verry few of us are actualy 7 heads tall. And remember comic books are often purpously out of proportion. Marvel will even admit to making heroes 8 heads tall to make them seem more heroic. (see the old marvel 'how to draw comics' book sometime) So this could be throwing peoples expectations out of wack a bit if they see a cape or tights. Either way, it's a heck of a lot beter than I could do.
Duke
Re: Duke (art and characters) radioKAOS, thanks once again! I'll keep striving to get more done. RPMiller, thanks for taking the time to go through the thread, I'm glad you liked the work I have done. It really does mean a lot as it is what drives me to do more when someone takes notice. (thanks to the internet where you can reach out and touch the world) I'm working on colouring two illustrations right now that I also did for Hero Games, though these were for Worlds of Empire, so I won't be displaying them until it hits the shelves. wagnern, I thought I would try something different by putting that floral design on the Rak, and it sure seems that they love to do that over there. Very interesting points concerning head proportions. Thats something that I never considered before, and like anyone who illustrates, we are all influenced by what we see already that visualy stimulates us. In my case of course comics have always been a big influence in giving me a passion to draw.
Duke
Re: Duke (art and characters) What were the cartoon illustrations for? A lot of those cartoon illustrations were commisioned work from a camply little online comic I was doing a few years ago. The comic itself wasn't meant for quality, but it sure did attract a lot of people. It actually would still do pretty well if I had the drive and did not loose interest in it. Its over here if you are interested in seeing.Tea & Cockroaches

Duke
Re: Duke (art and characters) Oh sorry that is my fault. That was the "new" site design that I never finished years ago. Try this one, and I'll even put you at the start of the comic. http://www.mayhemunited.com/teaandcockroaches/1cover.shtml

Duke
Re: Duke (art and characters) Well I'm currently working on 7 illustrations right now for DH that are due very soon. Black and white illustrations though. I had to turn down work for everyman though because there would be no time with my big move coming soon. Duke
Re: Duke (art and characters) I got the Primus and Responce Force 1 illustrations done for Digital Hero 37, so if you have not checked that out, you should. I actually merged the team into one illustration on my site if you wanted to take a look at them all together. Looks like WOE is out now too, and I did a few illustrations in that one as well. Let me know if you spot them. A few people have asked me to use some of my work for avatars, I think that would be okay, and it will probably be okay for the Hero Games ones. If not someone let me know. I cut some out tonight and I'll post them here for your pleasure. (Images are gone now)
