Darkseid?

Over on rpg.net, someone started a thread asking folks to stat up two characters in their favorite superhero system, mainly as a way to compare the different systems, and to have some fun.

 

Anyway, the two characters are Spider-Man and Darkseid, and i figured I'd go ahead and do a quick version of each. Now Pete was easy, but ol' stoneface was harder. I came up with a quick and dirty version, but I feel like I'm missing some stuff. Here's my first draft.

If I remember corectly, The Omega Effect can only do a few difrent things.

 

1) An energy beam which follows a target anywhere.

2) Instant disintergation of the target when hit.

3) Instant reintergation of whoever was hit by the instand disintergation effect.

4) "Probe" whatever gets hit by the beam (Mind Scan).

 

Of course, there may be other effects I am not awair of.

I've only read a few stories about Darkseid, but isn't PRE 30 a tad low for the fellow?

The Omega Beam will also wipe a person from time as well, so that those destroyed will eventually be forgotten by friend and foe alike, even by family members.

 

Also note that Darksied has personal immunity to it. As he said "Of course I survivie whelp, I could not host the energy otherwise"

On the Omega effect: he can use it to transport people through space and time. That's what he did to the Forever People the first time he was shown using it.

John Desmarais's version of Darkseid and the Omega Effect from The Great Net Book Of Real Heroes is closer to what Steriaca and ChaosDrgn are talking about. It is for 4E HERO, but not much would change for it under 5E:

The GNBORH version has the teleport/EDM functions too, so it looks like a good starting point all round.

I like how the USPD builds the Omega Effect as a Summon myself.

If I remember corectly, there was a fanticy series of books which had the hero have a simuler attack ("The Wheel Of Time" I beleve the series was called, and the attack "Bailfire").

 

Oh, and I forgot that it could bring anyone hit by the beam anywhere Darkside wanted him to go (via the disintergation/reintergation special effect).
