JmOz
Working on a character, idea behind her is she is a ghost, I want her natural state to be invisible, flying, and desolid. Easy enough, 0 end, Persistant. I also want at least her Invisibility, and maybe her desolid to be able to be "turned off" but at the cost of spending endurance (Probably ALOT of endurance), so how would you do it? Further more the ability to turn off should be a power in the sense that if she is KO'd it would automaticaly activate the powers (tutning off the turnning off as such), etc... Bloodstone
Re: [power help] Reversing costs endurance Make them Always on. There is an optional rule that Always One Powers may be turned off with a rather lartge END Expenditure. Alternatly, Supress, Any Ghost Power one at a time, Self Only. SirViss
Re: [power help] Reversing costs endurance Well, you can put a Side Effect defined as "X END per phase that power is turned off".
Lord Liaden
Re: [power help] Reversing costs endurance There's another rules-legal way to do this. It's been in circulation in the HERO community for a long time, but Steve Long has also endorsed it for Fifth Edition. Buy whichever of the ghost's Powers you want to always be active to 0 END, Persistant (and perhaps Inherent), and apply the Always On Limitation. Calculate how many points you saved on the construct by taking Always On, and then add that number of Character Points to the character's sheet - essentially buying off Always On. You can now apply any further Limitations to those points that you feel reflects the conditions under which the ghost can turn off the Power, including Costs Endurance and Increased Endurance. Derek Hiemforth
Re: [power help] Reversing costs endurance Buy them with Always On. Then figure out how much that Limitation saves you on the powers (i.e., the difference between their costs with and without the Limitation). Take that naked cost, apply an Increased END Cost Limitation, and pay the result. For example... Original Costs Without Limitation: 100 Invisibility to Sight, Hearing, Smell/Taste, Radio and Touch Groups , No Fringe, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +½), Persistent (+½) 80 Desolidification (affected by Magic), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +½), Persistent (+½) Costs After "Always On" is added: 67 Invisibility to Sight, Hearing, Smell/Taste, Radio and Touch Groups , No Fringe, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +½), Persistent (+½); Always On (-½) 53 Desolidification (affected by Magic), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +½), Persistent (+½); Always On (-½) So Always On saves a total of 60 points (33 on Invisibility and 27 on Desolid). "Buy Off" the Always On by taking a 60 point power, and applying Increased END Cost to it: 20 Remove Always On from Invisibility and Desolidification; Increased Endurance Cost (x5 END; -2) [END=30] So instead of the Invisibility and Desolid costing 180 points and being able to turn on and off at will, or costing 120 points but being always on, they now cost 140 points and are always on unless she pays 30 END per Phase to solidify. EDIT: Apparently LL and I were typing the same idea at the same time.
