AdamLeisemann
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Fox_series Looking at an idea, and I am curious about how you would like to go about with something like that. Basically, list how you would want something like this done as a Star Hero campaign using this setting: For example, I would probably try to integrate everything prior to Star Fox Assault and come up with some kind of backstory for it all (retconing and stetconing where needed.) Admittedly, that's because I think Star Fox Assault was a bit of a prison-style assault on the franchise. Aside from that, I would probably expand more on the worlds in the Lylat System and of course stat out the vehicles and equipment to the best of my ability. Anyways, what would you do? What would you want to see in such a game?
csyphrett
Re: [Just a thought] Star Fox HERO Blowing up Andross for good, death duels with Star Wolf, explanation for the spirit things from the Dinosaur planet, General Pepper in action, more power armor. That's just the top of my head. CES
Zeropoint
Re: [Just a thought] Star Fox HERO I'd like to see an adventure that DOESN'T end with space battle against Andross's floating head. (I'm looking at you, Starfox Adventure!)

Thia Halmades
Re: [Just a thought] Star Fox HERO Wow. Star HERO: TAS. That synchs it. The end is very f'n nigh. (I kid, I kid). Okay, Starfox. Er. I hate foxes, I'm a Wolf myself, which puts me at odds with the whole setting. Why is the Frog called Slippy? I don't get it. Never got into this series (Assault... that's the most recent GCN game, right? Did either of you play the new DS version?) If I were to do this (seriously, now) then the following become mission critical: - True-to-the-game vehicle write ups (see Halo Hero). - Stat sheets, etc. as well as Racial & Class packages. - A Star-Trek esque timeline & feel, allowing people to solve their problems through either communication, stealth or immediate violence. Add in some of your own personal WW2 for the flight combat and you've got a good start. - Art work is paramount, as well as making sure that the description of the setting remains true - not to the graphics - but to the ideas that the graphics attempted to portray. When thinking through level & plot design for a campaign like this, I would focus a tremendous amount of time & effort on properly describing things; this is not a place drenched in darkness. Even space is well lit for heaven's sakes. You can certainly spend some time "gritting it out" and bending it towards Star Wars Space Opera, but I think as an 'animated opera' it works much better. But it's almost 1am. I hope those are helpful AND they make sense.
FenrisUlf
Re: [Just a thought] Star Fox HERO Oh, I'd also like to see more of Krystal. Maybe a centerfold. Krystal... all the guys like Krystal. OT, but sometimes I wonder just what some of these fictional femmes would think if they could go online and see some of the more, ahem, 'inspired' art and stories involving them. tgrandjean
Re: [Just a thought] Star Fox HERO Heh. Well, I'll just give the usual type advise for an anime-ish style game. (Honestly, what do you expect? It's a furry war damnit!) Action. Lots of action. Don't let things bog down. Keep things moving at a fast of a clip as you can manage. Try to work in at least 3 fights a game; at least one of those should be mecha based (mecha here meaning starfighters, 'kay?). Drama. Everything has a personal stake here. Either you save the world or your girlfriend. You just don't fight the bad guys, you have a personal stake in destroying them. Friendships are deep and lasting... at least until betrayed. Tech. It's all about the toys. Trot out at least one new starfighter, bad ass personal weapon, or world destroying battleplatform once a session. Try to invest it with all the cool you can possibly muster. Plots. Keep them short and sweet. If the players can't figure it out in a few minutes, it's too complicated. Reduce it to it's components and then add in the subplots. Keep it short and sweet. Remember, it's all about the action!
