Blue
I recall from one of the previous editions (probably actually from one of the villains in an old supplement) a limitation that simulates your Entangle breaking down over time. I'm having trouble spotting it in 5ER, if it's there. Can anyone point it out? I'm not referring to Vulnerability or Susceptibility, but rather an effect like a Block of Ice melting. I could model it myself, but if I can find the actual limit somewhere it would help keep things consistent. Thanks in advance.
Hyper-Man
Re: Can't find a limitation I'll have to check my books tonight. I would strongly recommend just creating the custom limitation you want at between -1/4 and -1/2. an alternative method would be to create force walls with the uncrontrolled advatage which last as long as the amount of END pumped into them. example: 90 FW (12 PD/12 ED), Uncontrolled (+1/2) (90 Active Points) 9 END
Lord Liaden
Re: Can't find a limitation The Limitation "Entangle Deteriorates With Time" is in Champions III. AFAIK it didn't make it into later editions of the game. Here's how it breaks down: Entangle loses 1 DEF or 1 BODY per Phase: -1/4 Entangle loses 1 DEF and 1 BODY per Phase: -1/2 Entangle loses 1 DEF or 1 BODY per Segment: -1/2 Entangle loses 1 DEF and 1 BODY per Segment: -
Blue
Re: Can't find a limitation Thanks, LL! that's nearly how I handicapped it in my head. I was thinking: -1 BODY/Turn for -1/4 -1 BODY/Phase for -1/2 -1 BODY/Segment for -1 I'd leave out DEF for limitation purposes because once it hits 0 BODY it's gone anyway. Now I'll have to see which I like better
Erkenfresh
Re: Can't find a limitation Yeah but as a block of ice melts, it gets easier to break out of. It's a distinct difference because if it's trapping someone weak and the DEF doesn't deteriorate then they won't be able to break out until it's completely gone. Wyrm Ouroboros
Re: Can't find a limitation I think later editions replaced it with 'Entangle has No Defense' at -1 1/2, to simulate something that anyone can get out of, given a little time. OTOH, I like the 'break down' thing; very Spider-Man.
