His wife had run out of breadcrumbs and salt while preparing a big dinner, but all of the grocery stores in the area had closed early. What's a guy to do?! Suddenly, he spotted it, a Stop-and-Buy still open on the corner. As he pulled in and ran into the convenience store, he failed to notice the small old man walking past. Sounds like the originals might have been interesting, actually. Back on topic: Miss Universe: Obsessed, as you've guessed, with winning beauty pageants, wherever in the universe she finds them. Unfortunately, her more primordial race was endowed with far more tentacles than are fashionable these days - and though her peers amongst the Obsessed Fogies of the Universe have learned to use their Power Cosmic to take on more palatable humanoid forms, she refuses to as a point of pride. Thus, her willingness to do anything to win (besides alter her gods-given gorgeousness) has led to a string of very bloody pageants. Nice. That might actually work.
