Ronin: As he is a mentalit's worse nightmare, he'd probably laugh off any attempt by nightmare man to influence or scare him. Then again, Ronin has no offensive psi abilities, so the battle would be essentially a draw unless Ronin can harm the bad guy physically in the Dreamzone.

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street

Jake the Troll - "Yeah, whatever." One of the aspects of Troll is 'nightmare under the bed'. That, and, well, the whole regeneration thing kinda prevents this from being a major issue.

Icon - the teen version is actually kinda horked; she's got no real mental powers except for a low-level "strong will". It's enough to take the edge off most mentalists, but is by no means a full defense. She also sleeps an hour a week, so she may not actually notice this for a long time. She may end up sleeping while powered up, as her aura gives her some moderate mental defense as well. But at that point, she'd try to contact Whisper (the only telepath she knows) to see if she can do anything. Other than that, she'd probably run to the Argonauts and let them know what happened. Adult Icon is a federal agent, has some pretty hefty self-only mental powers, and doesn't sleep at all. So no luck there.

Shinji Miromoto - his mind is poisonous; (Damage Shield, 1 point mental transform, 3x penetrating, continuous). If he's in Shinji's mind long enough to have a dialog, he's already hosed.

Widower - completely blindsided by this. Doesn't know any telepaths or mystics, so he's horked. His only saving grace is that he also sleeps only an hour a week, so it'll be hard to find him. Try to track him down by whatever means he can, and hope his 5 minutes of sleep a night isn't enough to get himself killed.

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street

Sir Johnstone might be in big, big trouble. He has no powers that a normal human doesn't have, unless you count minor occult knowledge. He'll know what the dream represented, if that helped. And he's not actually afraid of anything.

Geddy Luger: Geddy'sss Baaack!:sneaky:

Sir Johnstone: (Smiling) Ah, you appear to be wearing a hat so you probably represent my father's absence during childhood. And the grenades on your belt are an ideal show of my distrust of the military. May I ask how you were planning to kill me?:king:

Geddy Luger: (Just stands there, annoyed that I stole his thunder.:nonp:

He might be able to defeat Geddy if it's a case of pure willpower.

More likely than all of this is the idea that he would offer his mind as sanctuary for Freddy. In this way, Sir Johnstone could attempt to get Geddy legal rights as a living being, whether he has a body or not. Of course, he'd have to agree not to kill anyone else. Then he'd have to turn himself in for the murders he'd already done, have a trial, and plead insanity. Then he'd go to an institution. But since he's currently residing in the mind of Sir Johnstone, he would have to be released to Sir Johnstone's custody. Then from then on, anytime that a bad guy knocked out Sir Johnstone:king: (a non-powered super-hero with a code against killing), all that they would achieve is waking up Geddy!:eg: (a powerful demon with an addiction to killing, maiming and torturing, and the power to make your nightmares become real and kill you)

I hope Geddy would see the irony in this and agree but if the GM is the sort of GM who brings Geddy Luger in to a super-hero campaign, might not let Geddy say yes.

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street

Pensativa, knowing she's somewhat vulnerable to mental attacks, would put on a pot of coffee and call her teammates to let them know what was up. Then, she'd try to track down the teen supers she recently met to warn them too. When the coffee stops being effective, she'd stop taking her painkillers, hoping that the pain would keep her awake long enough to update her autobiography and call her parents and tell them she loves them. If all that fails, and she falls asleep again anyway, she'll fight back as much as possible, but probably lose anyway.

Iron Alloy would probably die in her sleep but then discover her long held secret resurrection ability to wake up in the morning somehow not dead but pretty pissed off. She's an only effects the real world kind of gal so unless she'd want to keep dying and then ressurecting every night she'd have to figure something else out quick. After some consultation with her more magic oriented friends she'd then volunteer to go in after the guy. Her newfound "oh wow I can't die...you know...permanently" making her kind of cocky.

Old CorPse would be more than happy if this clown could kill him. (Hasn't worked with any one else.) Hell, he might try to find a way to stay asleep much longer than normal...

Eventually this Nightmare guy will get bored, which usually happens when a particular villain gets a bug up his ass about old CorPse-y. And when he gets bored, he's going to let his guard down...

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street

Mike the Demoness had DC's Vertigo mentioned as part of the inspiration in her original write-up. That setting has certain connections between the dream-realm and Hell, which could turn the whole thing from a sleeping smack-fest to high-level supernatural political shenanigans.

There's also the minor detail that Mike only sleeps when she /wants/ to (or is KOed), giving her plenty of prep time in the waking world before she meets the self-proclaimed Nightmare fellow again.

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street

Daedalus: Tell the team mage Nox about the encounter and give her the fabric so she can work on the situation on the mystic side.

Meanwhile, Daedalus will not be idle but go to sleep prepared. Next time if "Freddy" shows up before Nox has a chance to deal with him Daedalus moves the fight to Cyberspace and infects him with computer virus that overwrites him into spam from Nigeria.

Jump into a cyborg's dreams and you deserve to be hacked. :)

Quetzalcoatl: Has a tendency to get tougher and get better defenses after something almost kills him. Next time his psychic shield and mental invulnerability will be enough to blunt his attacks better, and he'll use his own offensive mental powers to blast him into oblivion.

That or Quetzalcoatl tries something strange and they both end up stranded in the White Void. Either way "Freddy" will regret it. :)

Warp: Tells his team. Between a god and a girl who wields the power of an Archangel "Freddy" is toast.

Spectrum: Very likely can't be permanently killed in this manner. Will get more mystically oriented team mates to help.

Complicating matters is that a Progenitor Probe downloaded vast amounts of stuff into his brain. If defenses against other entities trying to access it were included "Freddy" might have ended up biting off more than he can chew.
