Now that I've mailed my X-mass packages, I can get back to churning out Luchador villians...... First will be Sister Helga, a Natzi nun! Then La Bruja Verde, the fey luchadora! I also want to make up a genetic mutant luchador created by ARGENT via gene splicing techniques. He is both a potential super soldier and a way to seize controll of the Lucha World...(Champions have vast influence in the Lucha World...) It's quirky, but original, and I suggest you check it out. The world's most awesome Lucha Libre comic, if you can get your hands on it, is 'Sonambulo', about a former wrestler turned noir-style detective who still investigates crimes, romances damsels in distress and wallops ne'er do wells in his mask. 'Strongman' tells the story of once-famed luchador, movie star and crimefighter, 'El Tigre' who battled evil in Mexico during the 60's and 70's until mysteriously disappearing. It's 30+ years later and he's a down-and-outer living in New York City, losing to inferior wrestlers for drinking money and drinking himself to death, when a face from his past appears seeking his help. Can he rouse himself from his self-pity and dissipation? Is it possible to be the hero he once was, even one more time? I picked this one up yesterday and it's definitely worth a read. It's not the best lucha libre related comic I've ever seen (that honour goes to the wonderful 'Sonambulo') but it's a very very sweet piece of work and definitely worth a look-see. Rojo is red, though it is pronounced Roho. Gris is gray, pronounced Greece Lobo de Plata, meaning Silver wolf might sound better.
