BobGreenwade
I was eyewitness to this interesting event yesterday. It's apparently become quite the local mystery. When I saw it about 2 pm, it was quite a bit further north than in the photo (I recognize the angle of the shot), so the story from the Polk County workers is plausible. But, somehow, I could immediately think of several possible scenarios that could make their way into a game, including the climax of an action-adventure scenario with the hero(es) fighting terrorists aboard a Lear jet while nobody is at the controls. Does anyone else have any ideas (whether realistic or ridiculous)?

CTaylor
Re: The Mystery of the Corvallis Contrail Of course, the conspiracy theorists are seizing on this as proof that the government is spraying us with chemicals that cause morgellon's and lung diseases. Kristopher
Re: The Mystery of the Corvallis Contrail Anyone that flies fast enough will stir up the water vapour. I thought it had something to do with the exhaust -- notice that the old film of WW2 bombers leaving contrails always shows it from their engines out on the wings. While exhaust can modify it, it has to do with the lowering of air pressure that a wing will create at the top of a wing. That causes the water vapor in the air to condense, causing the contrail. WWII bombers show it from the engines, because the props cause the same effect.
