Re: Worth a thousand words?

Calra is a refugee. Part of a small expeditionary force dispatched by Isthva V'han to test the defenses of the Earth she was separated from her unit when their base ship fell under assault by Terran forces (Viper as it turned out but she's not aware it wasn't any official military force) and forced to retreat. Calra was assumed killed in action but in fact survived despite and recovered her injuries to find herself alone on an alien and hostile planet.

So she set about doing what a good solider would: finding a way to rejoin her lieges forces and do what she could to weaken the "enemy". So Calra acts as something of a terrorist, striking at sensitive targets on her own or offering her services as one of these "supervillains" particularly those of a high tech bent who might offer her a chance to get back home in some fashion though she plays those cards very close to her chest. Even many criminal Terrans seemed unnaturally resistant to accepting the Just and Glorious rule of the Eternal Empress. She's was dubbed "Prism" at some point and accepted it since "code names" seemed important in the vocation she's faking but finds the whole thing rather silly.

Re: Worth a thousand words?

Yun Li was from a family or sorcerers. Each member of her family was taught a different specialty. Li's specialty was necromancy. She was the most powerful member of the family.

But she didn't feel powerful enough. So, she searched the globe for the mystical staff: The Animator of the Dead. (loosely translated). This staff could raise an entire graveyard in one hour. And all under her command.

But, she was consistently followed by a mercenary. Captain Blight.

Captain Blight was practically immune to Li's power. Which is quite an accomplishment for someone who is dead.

You see, while Li was first learning all of her new powers; an American military man was sent in to discover what she was all about.

Li discovered Blight, and attacked him, and he died. When she tried to animate his corpse. It was her first time to animate the dead. And she got the spell wrong. Instead of a mindless loyal zombie, Blight was alive - in a sense - again.

Li's powers couldn't affect Blight anymore, Plus Blight's guns and knife could work on any undead creature.

Blight escaped capture (he was still outnumbered), and decided to make it his "life's" work to keep tabs on Li.

You can't tell by looking at Blight that he is dead. So he plays it like he's still alive. And his unusual sense of humor explains the T-shirt.

Nice! I'll see if I can work out some write ups this weekend. Repped

Re: Worth a thousand words?

Picture 4 Maybe "Spectrum" or "Prism". I see her as having powers based n light and colors, maybe even creating solid energy constructs similar to the powers of a Green Lantern. I'd make her an alien, maybe on Earth due to assignment since her costume and bearing have a military vibe to me.

Picture 1: Her cowl makes her look bald (though of course she didn't have to be) and that makes me think mentalist right off the bat. Interesting color combination, a bit on the somber side in ways and kind of severe maybe a very no nonsense even hardened personality that's somewhat superior. I could see her as a villain actually with powers centered on Mind Control and Illusion. Weak in physical combat and likes to hide and mentally snipe at "inferior minds". Name could be something like Dominatrix, Regis, or other commanding title.

Picture 2. The costume implies mystic to be, of a meditative, monk sort rather than a mage though I could see him casting spells too. But I more imagine a martial artist that practices a "internal" style the emphasizes chi/mana control and Mind over matter maybe Kalarippayattu an Indian martial art that has some mystical aspects. Might be a little clichéd by he could be blind too or maybe just wears the eyeless mask to focus his other senses.

Ok,

Picture 4 is something I just made up to post.

Picture 1 and Picture 2 are actually PCs of mine. I'm going to wait until you post your version of who Picture 2 is before saying any more than: "I really like your ideas".

Ivy

Ivy was a child of Mother Nature and Father Time. Placed on Earth at the beginning of time.

Ivy is the very essence of trees, shrubs, and any other plant. Ivy never interacted with humans. They pollute and destroy. Making her beauty into a mockery. She ignored these non plants for what seemed to be an eternity.

But when they dropped the bombs on Japan. They crossed the line. She started paying attention to the fleshy beings. She didn't like it. But she needed a body. One that would take out her revenge for her.

As she studied fleshy beings. She found that she disliked men more than women. So she took the image of a woman.

Ivy can control any plant. Cause any plant to grow anywhere (even in the wrong environment), she is made out of plants not flesh, she can even make very poisonous plants.

And she is taking revenge on these fleshy beings. Cutting off their air, causing famine, whatever it takes.

Glacier and Granite

Glacier and Granite were mutants abducted by VIPER when they were teenagers. VIPER started to brainwash them. But Granite's body was as hard as his mind (Damage Reduction - vs Mental) He helped Glacier keep her mind about her too.

They played along at first to get control of their mutant powers. Eventually, they took on their VIPER abductors and became heroes.

They fought together on so many occasions, and worked so well together, people thought they were married.

So Granite and Glacier decided to tie the knot. They have been happily married for a year now. Which is a good thing. Because something is wrong with all of the plants in the area....

Granite is a super brick, with mental protection to boot.

Glacier is a cold and ice energy projector.

The Concubine of Death

Melissa Carter was a runaway. She ran from home when she was 14 years old. She lived on the streets with the homeless and the streetpunks for three years. Then one man approached her, he talked to hewr and she liked him, even trusted him, and went with him. He was tall, dark and handsome. And he had a house. A big house! It was old and creepy but it was a house and Melissa would be able to sleep in a real bed. Something she had not doen for months now. So she awoke the next day only to discover that she could not move. She was strapped to the bed. And her new friend was standing beside her, looking down at her. He said: "My new bride, I welcome you to the realm of death. Share it with me. Sit beside my throne. Be my wife, be my love!" Then he kissed her. Suddenly a gust of pain swayed through her body and she cried and screamed. Screamed for hours it seemed. At last the pain went away. Melissa was released from the straps. She felt powerful now. She knew she had it within her. But she also was surprised that she no longer felt any emotions. And it was hard for her to get accustomed to her new state, because her senses had altered too. She no longer could smell or taste, but she was able to see the lifeforce in things and she knew how to take it away. She also "sees" if somebody is on the brink of death and she can tell if it is cancer or whatever. This sense is almost overwhelming for her.

Eventually she accepted her new state and now she sits at the side of the Lord of the Wandering Souls.

The Cockroach Soldier

Henry Arthur LaPorte served for the US Army in Iraq. His life changed when his platoon was ordered to investigate a chemical plant near Bagdad. Headquarter believed it could be a facility where weapons of mass destruction were produced. But this was not the case. It held something far more terrible than that. A mad scientist was tinkering with mutagenic substances which were infused with insect DNA. All of Henry's comrades died in the "investigation", as did the mad scientist. Only Henry did survive. But after a few weeks he began to change. He grew new limbs, his back was covered by a chitine armor and his senses sharpened. The Army conducted endless experiments with him. Yet they were not able to revoke the process. Henry was transfered to a special program in the US. But working for the government was no longer on his agenda. Only hours after landing on US soil Henry fled and was never seen again. Until now...

Originally a US military man working with the South Korean government as part of a team investigating a serious occult crimes and gruesome murders, the future "Capt Blight" and his team were captured by the culprist, a Necromancer named Yun Li. Never one one to waste "Material" Yun attempted to convert the capture soldiers into powerful undead minions. All but the captain died and were transformed into her slaves but Captain Blight was practically immune to Li's influence over the undead. Blight escaped capture (he was still outnumbered), and decided to make it his "life's" work to keep stop Li

Blythe, now calling himself Blight as a play on his powers and name, is driven to avenge his team and stop Yu from inflicting this state on anyone else. On the surface, he seems to have adapted to his condition but is in fact, deeply troubled. His demeanor has completely changed. He was once a deeply religious, quietly intense man and dedicated solider. Now he is bold, aggressive and of a darker disposition. Blight constantly injects gallows humor and grim if clever observations into conservation, often reflecting on the chaos and generally nihilistic nature of life. He rarely laughs except in irony and spends any free time he often wandering from bar to bar indulging drinks that can no longer intoxicate him, taking pleasure with hookers or women he picks up or alone, brooding and playing military video games.

Blight's powers mostly stem from his current state. He is a corpse in many respects and as such feels little pain and stress from his environment. Always a strong man, he can exert more strength a human because he doesn't feel pain that prevents regular people from injuring themselves. In fact, he can truly push himself to superhuman levels but he does injure himself when that happens, tearing muscles and breaking bone from the strain.

Somehow his Yun's spell effect his weapons. They are now magically imbued with his essence and can affect even the immaterial undead to great effect. The guns never run out of ammo, need reloading or maintenance. The guns work even in conditions where they shouldn't.

Blight's undead physiology generates an invisible field of necrotic energy" the Blight" which he's named himself after. Living beings exposed to Blight are weakened, feel tired and ill and are susceptible to disease, infection and slower to heal, plants wither, animals grow weak, early term pregnancies might be lost to miscarriage. The Blight's area of effect is huge but doesn't start to effect area all at once. Blight has to stay there for a few days before the effect beings to show up and the area of effect doubles every day until it reaches its full size.

You can't tell by looking at Blight that he is dead. He is a little pale and never seems to tan, his body temperature feels somewhat cool not alarmingly so and he's coached himself to breath regularly. He doesn't have a heartbeat or a pulse and no other vitals signs and doesn't bleed much when cut (and the blood is thick, blackish and partially clotted). While he can perform sexually (somehow) he doesn't ejaculate. His skin is dry and unusually firm to the touch.

Re: Worth a thousand words?

Madcap and Kaleidoscope

Ana and Mark Schultz were brother and sister. Mark was a year older than Ana. They were very smart. Ana loved music. It was her passion. At a very early age, she had learned to play almost every musical instrument ever known. Mark was always fascinated with the visual spectrum.

As Mark got older, he continued to study the colors of the visual spectrum and came up with the theory that each color - when properly focused - produced a different effect.

Red -affects heat (not fire)

Orange - affects movement

Yellow - affects mental capabilities

Green - affects plant growth

Blue - affects liquid

Violet - affects what a person sees

But he had no way of testing his theories. He took a teaching job at the local community college. His sister took a job as a music teacher at the same school.

October 31, Halloween. The two siblings usually didn’t dress up for Halloween. But they were labeled as “Mr. and Ms. No Personality”, by the students. So they decided to dress up in the craziest costumes they could find.

They never made it to the school. Instead all they remember is waking up in Telios’ lab. Luckily for them the Champions were fighting Teliios and he did not install loyalty in them - yet. They were strapped down on cots. Ava woke up first.

Immediately she tried to speak to wake up her brother, but only music came out. Instrumental music. She tried yelling his name. A loud trumpet sound came out and broke all of the windows. He brother woke up. He was glowing.

“Why did you yell out my name, where are we?”

Tuba, Flute, Trumpet, French Horn

“Of course I can understand you, why wouldn’t I?”

Bell, Flute, Trumpet.

“What do you mean you only make instrument sounds?”

Soon it became apparent that he was the only one who’d understand her. But something else wasn’t right. First she kept hearing music come from her, and second; she had no hands. She started crying. Mark tried to break free. His arm turned orange, and his arm was out of his restraint. He didn’t know how.

Mark unrestrained himself and his crying sister. The Champions were still outside. They’d know what to do. They went outside. Ironclad jumped next to Ava, immediately gave a blank look and started acting strange. He started walking on his hands.

“Have you gone completely mad?

Mark turned yellow, and Ironclad started acting like a monkey

The Champions started attacking the duo. Whenever they got close to Ava, they acted strange. Mark turned blue, and the Champions were soaking wet. This, plus the onslaught of Telios agent, gave the duo enough time to run away.

The duo were out on their own. “What happened back there? Why did everyone go completely mad when they got near you?”

Tuba, Drum, Piano.

“Yeah, you’re right my unlikely kaleidoscope of unpredictable colors doesn’t help either”

The duo realized that Telios doesn’t like his “experiments” going AWOL. They were too afraid to go for help.

Kaleidoscope still doesn’t have control over his powers. He has made seeds into full plants in a matter of minutes, water them, give them warmth. He is still a little afraid of testing his powers. No one else can even get within sound range or Mad Cap, or they start acting crazy. It doesn’t seem to affect her brother.

Re: Worth a thousand words?

“Ah, Queen Gemstone, what do we have the honor of your visit?”

“Get off my throne Dark Stone.”

“Tsk, tks, tks, You see I can’t do that my queen, because as you see; I’ve taken over your kingdom“

Guards Approach. The queen looks stunned.

“Cornerstone? Onyx? Emerald? You don’t serve this mad man do you?

“Oh, my queen they can’t answer you. No one can. You see I used the mind stones to control the entire kingdom. If it weren’t for your headband, you’d be controlled too. Now, off to prison for you where you will rot for an eternity. There is no one here that can help you. You are all alone now.”

The queen blasts a blinding light over the 3 guards. They stand frozen in place.

“That won’t keep them in place for long, and it doesn’t work on me or my loyal servants. That’s right my dear queen, I even control the council. You have no place to run my dear queen.

The queen fires another bolt of energy at Dark Stone but misses.

“Dark Stone, you may have this realm controlled, but I know another realm that would be immune to the mind stones. I will get help from there.

“Realm, what are you babbling about now my dear queen?

The council approaches.

“There has GOT to be someone there willing to help me.

“My dear queen, I seem to be doing you a favor. You have gone completely mad”

Gemstone sits on the floor and chants. She glows.

“What ARE you doing?

The council can’t seem to get close to her, some sort of invisible barrier.

“You don’t know everything I can do Dark Stone. I am going to a realm I call Earth.

“Stop her!”

Cornerstone, Only, and Emerald breaks free and head for the queen . The break her invisible barrier, just as she (with the 3 guards) vanish…
