Worth a thousand words?

There is a saying: "A picture is worth a thousand words".

So, I'm testing that theory. I have randomly made a character on hero Machine. (when you see him, you will see how random he is). Everything from pose, to whether he even had a feature, to the color of the feature.

Basically, can we determine his background, powers, super hero name, and personality from a random picture?

Here is the image:

Re: Worth a thousand words?

How do we know he's not a super-villain?

His name: The Dread Pirate Awwwk!

His origin? What happens when a sadistic space pirate with a parrot on his shoulder both fall into a DNA combiner. The bird beak and tail is not a costume feature- they're permanently part of him. He has flight, and his dark energy gauntlets allow for a prodigious ranged attack. He is in constant contact with his flagship, the Pretty Bird.

He's also carrying a chain, so he's either skilled with using it, objects of opportunity, or he's into sadism (the latter I tend to support as his costume is an assault on the senses).

As for his logo- he should be ashamed of himself for what appears to be pictured there. It looks like a griffon is being molested by a green dragon.

Re: Worth a thousand words?

He is the Prince of Chained Birds, a fey creature that seeks the destruction of all flying beings who fly under their own power and tries to put them in cages.

His evil Topiary is loaded with monstrous guardians that ensorcel the flying creatures to sing sweet, yet disturbing music, and make them want to stay there forever.

No ideas yet but I like these two best so far. They'd be great for a light Silver Age Superfriends-esque campaign and a odd game with Urban Fantasy trappings (like Changeling meets Champions) respectively.

Very creative guys.

Balabanto: If you don't mind I'd like to use the name "Prince of Chained Birds".

Re: Worth a thousand words?

No, no. She lost that hand. And got One Big Attack.

She has three abilities- that One Big Attack, the Tactics skill to find a way to make that One Big Attack, and the Skill Levels to do insane things to land that One Big Attack.

Add to her Running and give her some token Armor for the costume and you're golden.

The almost runic power effects make me think cyberkinetic' date=' but the rest of her appearance leans a little more mystic.[/quote']

Interesting, I didn't consider a mystic angle.

Sort of one shot, one trick pony kind of villain, huh?

Re: Worth a thousand words?

At first glance, it looks like she'd have a STR of 40 or more. Plus the belt would have a few tricks - pellet sized maybe (smoke pellets, entangle pellets, etc)

The helmet make her look like she could communicate with someone through it, or provide mental protection.

She looks like she has a military background (maybe it's the "determination" on her face).

Re: Worth a thousand words?

Interlock is a young woman whose hand has been fused with the core of an artificially intelligent alien computer. The hand has a mind of it's own, and whispers to her while she sleeps, and breathes dreams of world domination into her ear. The computer hand can interface with other machines and infuse them with weird dimensional energies, bending them to her purpose.

The backlash from the dimensional energy makes Interlock super strong, super fast, and super tough. A master villain of the highest caliber, she surrounds herself with her dimensional machine allies, and is very afraid that someone will try to reach the person she used to be, so much so that she tries to destroy those who try the hardest. Could this be love?

Re: Worth a thousand words?

What sort of powers/background would you guys give this young lady?

that gauntlet, and possibly the Girl as well, are Sean Water's wet dream come true.

That gauntlet represents a large multi-power weapon.

1. Teleport Usable Against Others, Trans-Dimensional

2. Large Naked Advantage of Trandimensional for her other powers.

3. A large amount of Luck, Usable only to invoke meta-rules in her favor.

her hair turned green from all the ambient radiation

given off by the SW-Particles released in rule-bending

Re: Worth a thousand words?

Here's what I had for the girl: Jumper

Jumper was a lab technician that stole the experimental spatial manipulation technology being developed by her firm for her own ends. She uses the technology for criminal purposes, mostly limited to simple thefts to satisfy her craving for wealth. She tends to be short sighted, impulsive and a little cowardly. On the plus side, she's no killer. Her powers include rapid teleportation/apportation and various effects that stem from the power to warp space like taffy including a limited telekinsis and the ability to cause "ripples" in space daze and disorient those caught in them.
