Eyes Brown Hair Black Powers The Asp possesses the ability to generate and project an unknown form of radiant energy which causes paralysis in those exposed to it. Her body constantly produces this energy, which upon exceeding her body's storage capacity, discharges itself in minute amounts through her skin. (Prolonged physical contact with the Asp is fatal to human beings.) By tapping her body's total store of energy, she can emit directed, visible, lightning-like discharges she call her "venom bolts." She generally projects them from her fingertips. At maximum strength, these venom-bolts can kill an average size man standing six feet from her. The energy causes a rapid paralysis of its victim's nervous system. A non-fatal discharge will retain its potency for about four hours, depending upon the strength of the blast and the strength of the nervous system of the victim. The venom-bolt has effects on anything other than living organisms. After discharging her body's total store of energy, it takes the Asp about one half hour to regenerate her power to peak levels. She can recharge her body's store of energy faster by accelerating her metabolic rate through physical activity. She generally rebuild her energy level by making swaying and undulating motions with her torso and arms. An accomplished dancer with superb muscular control, the Asp moves in a manner that is almost hypnotic in its provocativeness. Engaging in her "snake-dance," the Asp can regenerate her energy to peak capacity with in ten minutes. Abilities The Asp possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. She possesses the skill, grace, coordination, and muscle control of an accomplished dancer. Deploring violence, she has never learned traditional methods of hand-to-hand combat. HawksmoorSD
Re: Split's Serpent Society Thread Here' s Boomslang. According to the rules you can't put Physical Manifestation on something that's not a constant power so I set it as an OIF. From what little I found on him online you could probably make that an OAF but thats up to SD. Also, for his Superior Thrower ability I used 2 pt combat levels instead of 3 pointers since its a single attack. All in all this came out at 212 compared to the 240 he was first listed at. BTW is Diamond Back supposed to be as agile as Cobra? She never struck me as being that nimble. EDIT: Again SD if I'm making assumptions with the changes let me know. I don't want to be stepping on your toes.
Split Decision
Re: Split's Serpent Society Thread Diamondback progressed signifigantly over her career. DEX 26 may be high for her; I pegged it there to make her more playable as a PC or a sidekick for a PC. At DEX 26 and with a good variety of offense, she's certainly a playable PC even at a "mere" 325 points. She is IMO somewhere between DEX 20 and 26. During Streets of Poison, she is caught flat by a drive-by shooting that would have killed her if she hadn't just switched to a kevlar costume. By the time of, say, Cap 440 or so, she is able to take apart Snapdragon without much effort, where Snapdragon was able to nearly kill her a couple of years earlier. She also made most of the Savage Land look like child's play around this time, and there are probably plenty of strange animals in the DEX 25 range. While a straight DEX score may not be the most mechanically sound way to show this progression, it is the simplest. And the most compelling reason, to me, to put her DEX up like that is that she trained and partnered for a couple of years with Captain America, who will make the most out of anyone he pals around with. If there are other folks with a different build or conception for Diamondback, please post them here! I love seeing other people's ideas about characters. As far as Boomslang's boomerangs being OIF, it's just a matter of taste. I made it a physical manifestation so he wouldn't be losing them quite as often, since it's really his entire schtick. You could make it an OIF or OAF. From his reputation, I would expect him to be built on more than 212 points, but from his performance in comics, there's nothing to indicate that he's all that much more powerful than a high-level normal agent. Again, Hawksmoor, thank you for fixing my errors and putting the finished characters into useable .hdc form!
HawksmoorSD
Re: Split's Serpent Society Thread I've got to say that whole explanation on her Dex was very well handled and it shows how much thought you've put into these conversions. Admittedly I lost track of Cap around the time that the Serpent Society had just gotten into full swing so I didn't see a lot of Diamondbacks evolution. As always it's my pleasure to help out. He clearly has some firepower with his indestructable cables, and would make a good foil for a lone hero or a new addition to the Serpent Society under King Cobra. His main weakness is that he's still a street thug who just happens to have a nice battlesuit- he's perfectly happy using it to knock over liquor stores and banks even though he could play in the big leagues with a change in attitude. Recently, there has been a retroactive continuity change that makes Frank Schlicting actually Frank Payne, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who went deep undercover, had a nervous breakdown, and somehow forgot who he used to be- becoming, in essence, a new man. He subsequently lost his hands in battle with KIA, and was rebuilt with the cables coming directly from his robotic hands. And gave up crime. And then had the cables replaced with Vibranium ones in order to save Sabretooth's life. And a lot of other incredible things (even by superhero standards), all in an effort to get this guy where Marvel thought he should be. Blah, blah, blah. I honestly don't know if anyone there had a clue as to how to use him. The most interesting version of Constrictor to me was the one with the chutzpah to spit on the assembled might of the Serpent Society and decide he was better off as a solo operator (For Justin Hammer's Corporation, in this case), and go one-on-one with the likes of the Hulk, Captain America, and Iron Man. That Constrictor is the one presented here. Eyes Blue-gray Hair Black Powers None Abilities The Constrictor is an above-average athlete and skilled in conventional military and espionage training. Weapons The Constrictor's signature weapons are two Vibranium cables that launch from special gauntlets above his wrist. Cybernetically-controlled, the cables can be used as whips, can constrict his victims, and can deliver a powerful electrical charge. (Originally, the cables were composed of Adamatium, but even though they have been replaced, they remain virtually indestructible.) The Constrictor's battlesuit is electrically-insulated and partially bullet-proof. First Appearance Incredible Hulk #212 (1977)

Split Decision
Re: Split's Serpent Society Thread Let me be the first to say fantastic job on the whole set!! Really well done and thought out. I have to admit I'm curious to see how you'd write up Cap so he could take on this slithery bunch. Actually, with some smarts and luck, it wouldn't take any more than a 1000-point Cap to take these jokers down. I think Batman would be capable; Daredevil, probably not. Two of the things that help tremendously is some resistant defense to electricity, and some sort of immunity to snake-based poisons. But you know, I've been searching for the next challenge. OK. Cap, Peggy, Fabian & John, the Cap motorcycle, the Avengers skycycle, John's airplane, the Battle Van, maybe Bernie; Nomad, Falcon and Redwing, Paladin, Vagabond, D-Man, Jack Flagg and Free Spirit, Agent 13, and whoever else I can dig up. And, of course, who could forget Red Skull, Mother Night, Crossbones, Cutthroat, Batwing, Machinesmith... All of a sudden, this is a bigger project than the Serpent Society. We'll see how it goes! It is so weird I was just looking for some of these. Keep up the great work. Hey Crossbones would rock. Don;t forget the draw strings on the back of his face mask as an OOF of some sort. Cap grabs it and yanks his head back and I think chops his throat. Cheers
Spidey88
Re: Split's Serpent Society Thread Abilities: Above human strength (pretty close to Str 15 though, I think I figured Str 18 based on his ability to bench press 500 lbs according to the OHOTMU. Ability to move at speeds upto 50 mph in short bursts for a few seconds- this is seperate from his slithering ability. His bones cannot be broken nor his muscles torn due to bodywide mutations of his skeleton and musculature. His grip is said to be nearly unbreakable- I am sure he's been able to constrict Mr. Hyde before at the very least. He also has extreme agility although possibly not quite superhuman level and the ability to fit thorugh any opening more than 4" in diameter. A little late on the response here, but hopefully my input will be useful... I haven't read any comics with King Cobra in them, outside of those issues of Spider-Man he's appeared in. There were a few in the 80's though, so I'll work from there. His speed and agility were noted to be nearly at Spider-Man's level (without all the bonus levels in DCV, though), so I'd say that definitely puts him in "superhuman" territory. How much is from training and how much is from his altered physique? Who knows - but personally, I'd feel comfortable putting him at DEX 30 or so (what you'd want would depend entirely on your campaign benchmarks, of course). I don't recall him ever performing any feats of real superstrength, outside of his constriction/grab attacks, so I'd say you've got him pegged right on the money in that regard. Works for me, anyway. Nice job across the board!

I did put some time into it. You can see Crossbones and some other notables here. Spidey: I am satisfied with Cobra's numbers, since most of the sources I was able to get jibe well at his speed figure. Please adjust them however you like for your consumption though- I have no ownership over the character or the concept, it is just what seems right to me. Since it's just a super-short-range power, I upped the END requirements.
