It's close to 95 F here (very hot for us).  My daughter set out a dish with water, and lots of well-washed rounded beach pebbles.  The bees and wasps are coming in numbers to drink.  There's six bees in this image, though a couple are quite out of focus and only the tail half of another si visible.

We're having a cool day for Las Vegas, current temperature is 95°F.

 

I wasn't able to get a picture of the American Kestrel (female from the size) that I saw yesterday hanging out in the shade a few houses down (I think that it was 108° at the time).  I had noticed that the young mockingbirds weren't around for the last few days. Either they decided to be elsewhere, or they might have become dinner.
